If I would like to include someone in a spell...
In the old days, the witch needed something like hair, piece of cloth or stuff like that belonged to the person concerned by the spell..
Or the full name, date of birth etc...
I say to do what you can, just to be sure.
I mean if you have a picture of someone, a personal belonging, AND a lock of their hair, then sure use them. lol.
But if all you have available is their full name then use that.
Or if you don't know their full name, just think of them.
Spellcraft is all about the concentrated energy you put into the spell.
I think the reason why they used to use locks of hair, etc was for 2 reasons;
- sympathetic magic
- and because it helped them to concentrate on the subject better.
