Tanner sleeps in the pack-n-play next to my bed. Last night he went to sleep a little late for his evening nap, but I put him in his crib where he usually naps. When we went to bed- he still hadn't woken up... (He was exhausted from being on the boat all day I think!) I usually wake him around 12 or so when he does this, so I can change his diaper and feed him-- and put him in my room! I decided not to last night because I knew he was just so tired and I didn't want to mess with him and be stuck awake with a fussy baby until 3!
I wound up crying myself to sleep though... because my baby didn't need me. He was in his room like a big boy and all I could do was listen on the monitor! Maybe I do need a video monitor afterall!? He wound up sleeping until 6:30 this morning. I changed him, fed him and back asleep until about 9! Tonight for his evening nap I put him in MY room... and good thing too, cause it is 10:30 and he still isn't awake! Might be out for the night again!
I'm not ready for this!!!

Ah, sometimes the sleep thing is bittersweet, huh?

I'm going to be dancing in the streets when Maddie stops waking up for her middle of the night bottle! No bittersweetness here! hehe I know I can bring her in my bed to snuggle whenever I want, but it's nice to have her comfy and safe in her crib - she's happy anywhere really which makes me hope she is well adjusted so far.

Don't be sad This time is so awesome, they still need us but they are learning their own way.

I agree with Cyndee. Be excited that Tanner can sleep on his own and all night at that. You will be happy in the long run that he learned himself and you didn't have to break him of an exhausting habit. It is sad but happy at the same time.

I'm sure its hard watching him grow up so fast but be happy that he is sleeping so well... Now you can get some rest... I love it when Aiden sleeps through the night, well from 8 to 3 or 4 am...

He'll still need you, just for different things as he grows up! I used to enjoy getting up at 4 am with Lily, but now that I'm back at work I'm so glad she sleeps through the night for the most part.

He's pretty much always slept through the night... well, from like 10-6 or 7, so I get plenty of sleep... he really is the BEST baby and knows how mommy is about her sleep! I'm a night owl and can't sleep until late... I usually pump one last time around 12 and go to bed around 1... Then he gets up to eat around 7 and will go back to sleep and lay in the bed with me until sometimes as late as 10 oclock! He's SOO good!
Anyway- last night he went to sleep early again, but I put him in MY room this time! He woke at about 4:30 to eat and really, I heard him talking and looked over and he'd rolled over and was just laying there talking... Silly boy! Anyway I fed him and we went back to sleep till about 8 then he ate some more and we lounged in bed until about 9.
