Last night at my 3:00am pump finally the engorgement was relieved. It felt so good I almost cried for joy. Once it started the milk was flying out full force. I ended up with 10 1/2 ounces, of which about 8 was from the left side alone. That's over twice what I would usually get. I've pumped again 3 hours later and got a little bit less than I usually do, but I think that's okay because I pumped until I was really empty at 3:00am and only left 3 hours in between just in case. I'll keep a close eye on output today but I think it should be fine.
Now get this... I was eating monster cookies at the start of that 3:00am pumping session. So should we add "aids in letdown" to it's list of attributes?
Thanks for the support everyone. It's been a really crappy 3 days, it feels so good to be back to feeling myself again.
YAY for boob relief!! I got a clogged duct and was so engorged the other day when Walter only woke up 3 times to eat instead of 7 (I know, that statement is so wrong.) I understand how good it feels to have an empty boobie after feeling like that! And funny about the Monster Cookies. Those things are crazy.
mama to 5 yr old DS1 , 3 year old DS2 , and nursling DD .
Woo hoo! I almost suggested trying Monster Cookies but I was afraid they would make you more engorged. Those things are miraculous. I'm going to have to make some and see if they can change Ava's formula into breast milk!
