I haven't updated in awhile, but things have been moving along pretty good and I think we are really close to being out of the "rough-in" stage and getting ready for insulation/drywall phase.
Our builder seems to think he'll be ready for the cabinet maker to be in there in a month for the kitchen, I personally think he's high if he thinks he'll be ready that soon, but it is getting close!
All the electrical, plumbing, HVAC and central vac roughins are done, the garage doors finally got installed and the fireplace is in so it's getting there. DH will be transferring all of our slate tile out of storage up to the house this weekend because that will need to start soon as well.
Now it's time to get serious about packing up our house and fixing it up to sell. I'd say we're in the 2 1/2 - 3 month timeframe to move. Wooohoo!
ETA: DH just sent through some pics he took this morning. We are super excited about the fireplace! Long story short, I saw it in a model home a few years ago and loved the idea. It's a 2 sided indoor/outdoor fireplace so it can be enjoyed from inside the living room and then out on the deck and what's really cool is you can see right through it to your yard. This thing cost us many many hours of aggrevation - all the crap we went through with architecture and design was mostly to accommodate this puppy. It's amazing to actually see it installed and know it was worth it.
This is the front... the garage doors just got put on last week. Anywhere that you see plywood is where the stone will be installed in the Spring. The front door and bay window to the kitchen are hidden behind the blue tarp.
Back of the house with the new fire place!
And this gives a sense of what the fireplace does for the look from the inside. The same stone that will be on the outside of the house will also be the finish for the area above the fireplace:
