Do not leave your child in the car alone. Not even for a second to run into the gas station where you can see out of the window.

This is the 3rd time I have heard of this happening around here. *This* is why I want to move out of New Haven.

I have done this. It is so hard to get all three kids out of the car to pay for gas. I have only done it at one station in a very family oriented area, away from major highways and routes. But still it can happen anywhere. Tom and I had a huge discussion about this the other night.

That is so scary! I'm so glad that it had a happy ending though.

Leaving Aidan in a car alone is right near the top of my paranoid do not do list. I never fill up at a gas station where I can't pay at the pump. Even just getting out to pump it makes me a little nervous and I always take the keys with me and lock the doors with him inside and that's with being in handsreach, so walking a dozen steps to pay for the gas with him in there just ain't happening here.

One reason why I like that it's illegal to pump your own gas in NJ. You have to stay in your car.
