Has anyone tried it and does it work.

My first plan was to buy a United State map that was magnetic (not puzzle pieces) and get magnets made of family and facts made. I haven't really found what I was looking for.

So my next idea was to get a board and paint it with magnetic paint and get a map of the United States and hang it on the board. I was wonder if this would work so I can get magnet of family and facts and it would stick to the map because it is hanging on the magnetic board.

We used it on one of Meg's walls in her room. We did the double layer like it stated, but it still is very weak. If you do it, get the thin sheet type magnets. (Think advertising magnets.. like Papa John's has) They stay well. Anything bulky or any magnets with weight to them won't stay. .. even the cheapo plastic letters don't stay on.

I've heard you can get metal sheets at home improvement stores that work great. They can even cut them for you to fit into picture frames. I haven't heard a lot of great reviews on the paint, which is too bad, I really thought it looked cool.

Well this just sucks... Maybe I'll try it on a small wood before doing what I really want to do.

I'll have to look into this metal sheets and i like the idea of framing too.

Anyone else have any ideas.

I've seen a few ideas that use the giant baking sheets you can get a recipe supply stores. Sort of the same idea as metal sheets from a hardware store but apparently less expensive? I really have no idea. They may not even be big enough for what you're looking for.

As for a map, we got the girls a wall decal one from Kohl's for Christmas. It's kid friendly and Kaija has already learned what state we live in, where Grammy and Grampy live and a few other things from it.
