If you are getting a refund what are you going to use it for?
We need to pay some CC bills from tires we got for our cars and some leftover medical bills. We also need to get our house painted (exterior). I have no idea how much that is going to cost though but it needs to be done soon. We hope to save some for maybe a small vacation in the fall.

we need to redo our front sidewalk, it needed to be done like 5yrs ago but we haven't gotten around to it LOL, so in the spring I think we are going to do that, the rest (if anything is left after that) will just go into savings.

I have no idea if we are getting one or not. My company let us know yesterday that since we fall under a special partnership yada yada.. that they don't (by law) have to provide us with our forms until April. So filing will be awhile... and until we file i dont know if there will be a return.
Job hunting........................................... ...
If there is a return, we will probably put it into finishing the house renovations because I am job hunting nationwide again.. and we will most likely be moving.

Ours got messed up again this year... I need to stop trying to do it myself. As of right now the government has claimed all of DH's refund and they want almost 6k more. Something about the First Time Homebuyers Credit that we claimed in 2008. We tried to file separately to avoid last year's cluster**** but I guess that didn't work. Hopefully we get it worked out so we get his money back eventually. We had been planning on doing the finish work in our basement and redoing our bathroom.

I'm just hoping we get more than the $60 we got last year!
We're going to book tickets for the boys and I to go to Texas to visit my grandparents. Depending on how much we get back, DH may come too. The rest, if any, will go towards the new (as in new-to-us) car fund.

I have no idea if we will get money back or not. We can never file until the last minute because one of the forms we need we don't get until the last minute. But, we typically get a good chunk of change back. I have lots of stuff I'd like to do around the house and we are going to Disneyland in April so if we do get money back, I will use it for that stuff.

I'm hoping for a refund this year. If we get one, it will go to credit card bills. We are working on paying things off

We already got ours back. We are taking some of it to put towards Disney (the beginning of next year). Then DH bought a new safe for his guns. I got the baby a new convertible Carseats. I also got a new sit n stand stroller. (I have been borrowing one for the past year but, she is having another baby and needs it back.) We are also looking into getting a new couch.

We're getting just under $10,000 back. So, 2,500 is going to pay off the midwife, $1,600 is to pay for the awful dental work I've been doing this last month. $2,000 for a new mattress, and then the last $2,000 something is going to pay off our last credit card. If there is a few hundred left, and there should be, then I am taking Jocelyn to Vegas in April to meet her new cousins (three of my sisters had baby girls in January) before we all move to Hawaii in May.

I want to cry. I just finished doing our taxes. $500. That's it. I'm starting to wonder if I'm doing something wrong on our taxes. Last year we got $60. Why does everyone I know seem to get a few thousand back every year? Looks like I will have to cancel plans to visit my family.

Shannon, look at your and DH's with holdings on your W-4's. Do you claim zero or do you claim the max? DH and I both claim zero so we get a bigger refund (if we manage to not have someone taking it all...). But most of the people in Kolbie's PR, for example, claim as much as they can so they don't get much of a refund.
