rough morning around here, Sydney has a had a rough few days with tantrums and fits, when does this phase end .....also my mom is having some medical issues and is scheduled for a procedure on the 14th, hopefully after that procedure we know what we are dealing with, it is making me a bit nervous but I am hoping for the best.

Kim - Hopefully your Mom is fine! Sam's tantrums have been wild lately, too. When she starts flipping out, she'll then start saying "You yelled at me and you need to apologize NOW!" .... when I've been calm beyond reason. She also has the idea that I always have to apologize to her.. ie. she won't unless I say sorry to her first. Driving.Me.Crazy.

My moan.. PMS, house cleaning to do and these dizzy spells are getting out of control. My doctor keeps wanting to give me antibiotics for my sinuses (even though I am supposed to be VERY careful with them now) and I don't think I am "infected". I think I need an xray to see WTH is going on in there. Anyhoo.. I am going to go to a walk in doctor to see if I can get a referral to an ENT.

Nothing major today, just the usual gripes!

So far today is okay, no major complaints other than I have a really busy week ahead of me. DHs Mom's birthday is today and my Mom's is on Thursday so I have some flowers to get ordered. I just have tons of crap to do at home, like laundry and I have to be in Toronto in the office for meetings on Wednesday, which always screws me up. I've actually decided to just stay in Toronto on Wednesday night so I can actually have some drinks when we're out afterwards and not worry about the driving. That part I'm looking forward to!

Haha! I get "you are SO rude" and "you are just annoying me" mixed in with "I don't like you anymore" and "you are not my best friend".

My moans are petty really. I didn't get any sleep. Meghan has started getting scared of closets and open doors lately, so she ended up in our room (and our bed).. so the little ninja kept me awake all night with her random kicks and flailing arms. I am sore from shoveling dirt all day yesterday.. and I am behind on my studying and my dog training.. and laundry.

I just need a week of downtime.. alone.

Kaija's Dr. prescribed her Miralax because she's not pooping at all anymore really. She's getting really really constipated and then it just ends up coming out all at once where ever she is. Lately we can tell when she has to go she just tenses up so much that she won't go and ends up leaking a little at a time. Then she doesn't tell us and basically ends up with diaper rash that is incredibly painful for her and starts the cycle all over again because it hurts to poop due to the rash... I'm at my wits end with this We give her the Miralax for a few days so she poops and then we just spend 2-3 days cleaning up poopy underwear because she still doesn't get to the toilet on time. She also pees so much at night that her pull ups leak every single night. We can barely get her to use the toilet during the day.

What have we done to make her so scared of the toilet?

Mylene, we went through an almost exact same thing with Kenz. She was pretty much trained and then completely regressed to that. I was sneaking prune juice into other juice. I think we ended up bribing her to poop, but I think mostly she got past it on her own. Sorry I can't remember more

Yes, Ashley! She was 98% trained FINALLY just before our Thanksgiving and then my parents got here and she regressed because she was too distracted to stop what she was doing to use the bathroom and it's just gotten worse and worse. I'm sure it didn't help that at the same time the bulb in our main tv blew and so we started spending time downstairs, "far" away from the bathroom, again. She gets scared to go upstairs alone so she'd rather hold it than go upstairs. But we got a new bulb last week so we're going to spend time upstairs again and hopefully that will help get us past it.

Now to get her to not be scared of the automatic flush toilet at preschool...oy.

I just did my taxes online. Lame. Like so bad, I wonder if I should pay someone to look them over again. Second year in a row that we're getting much less than I expected back. At this point, I guess I won't get to go visit my family in Texas.

Mylene I just wanted to let you know that Sydney was the same way for a really long time, she would get constipated, purposefully hold her poop, scream, cry it was horrible! it started around 18 months and lasted up until she potty trained at 3. the only thing that got us on track was low dose Miralax long term, not enough to make her not be able to hold it but enough to keep her going so that it didn't hurt. She was on Miralax for nearly a year daily because every time we tried to wean off she would start the constipation, holding poop thing again. Finally now we are pretty much off of it, I only give it to her if she seems to be getting really constipated now and she is potty trained 100% so we don't have that issue but the holding poop, constipation thing I know all about that, our pedi GI said it is really quite common so IDK. Anyway just wanted to let you know I understand to a certain degree, finding the right dose of Miralax was key for us, she would get like a 1/4 cap daily. I hope you find something that works for you guys!

Mylene, my sister's girls do the same thing. They are really anxious poopers and she doesn't know why. Her oldest finally got over it but potty training for her took a really long time.

My moan from yesterday was a random tantrum from Lily. I knew she was tired after we got home last night, but she was doing well at dinner. She asked nicely for a piece of cake so I agreed to give her a slice. Well I guess I put the slice on her plate the wrong way (?!?) and she flipped out. She started flinging cake and screaming about it falling apart. I put her to bed at 6:30 because of it. WTH?

My moan this morning is that Abri is sick randomly. I'm home from work with her. She's got a fever, no appetite, and is just laying around. This is so unlike her. The pedi office won't see her because she doesn't have a cough, congestion, or rash. Abri is a crazy busy toddler who never gets fevers. For her to keep dozing off in my lap all morning is concerning to me.
