Are you or your kids affected by seasonal allergies?
What is the worst time of year for you?
What kind of symptoms and medicines do you take?
Did you have them all your life or develop them over time/environment?

I get sinus issues, headaches, dry skin and itchy red eyes - it's really bad today!
I will take flonase if it's really bad/stuffed up, but not much else - the side effects of claritin and other meds turn me off. Fall and early Spring are the worst for me. I never had allergies until I moved up here. I am also allergic to high amounts of dander, dust and pet hair so being around 2 or more large dogs usually stuffs me up pretty good and if a dog licks me I break out in hives.

Are you or your kids affected by seasonal allergies? Both Zane and I are. I am more than him though. He just sneezes and I get stuffed up and itchy eyes.

What is the worst time of year for you? I am allergic to different things all year around. I am mostly allergic to dust mites though. When I was getting allergy tested I had an anaphelactic reaction and my throat and tounge closed up. Pretty scary.

What kind of symptoms and medicines do you take? I don't take anything unless it is so bad I am sneezing all day. I don't like taking medicine unless I am desperate. I will take a Zyrtec. Zane doesn't get anything. The dr told me to give him Claratin daily. I tried that and it made him into a crazy child. As soon as I stopped I could tell it was the meds affecting him.

Did you have them all your life or develop them over time/environment?
I have had allergies as far back as I can remember. I remember getting allergy shots when I was a kid.

I heard a tablespoon of local honey every day helps with allergies.

I am pretty sure that Katherine has a mild case of allergies. She has had a runny nose for about 3 weeks now with no other symptoms. It isn't bad enough to treat. It mainly affects her when we are outside or when we first come in from being outside.

I'm pretty sure Kaija is developing some allergies. In MI this weekend she was sneezing and had an awful runny nose. I was feeling pretty gross too. Now that we're home neither of us are so bad. She also has eczema and bumpy dry skin that I'm trying to decide if it's allergies or a skin thing. I usually take zyrtec or benedryl (at night only). I got her some claritin for the weekend and it worked well for her, she just hates the way it tastes. I have had allergies since at least high school. I had to get shots for years and it was awful! I'd react so badly that my arm would swell to the size of a softball.

this is true, but you need to start doing it about 6 months before allergy season for it to work.

i have never really suffered from seasonal allergies...the kids seem to be ok too.

Good to know... Preston does get seasonal allergies mainly with running nose. I haven't tried the honey thing since I just learned about it a few ago from a coworker. Normally I just give allergies meds but they don't do any good.

Are you or your kids affected by seasonal allergies? Yep

What is the worst time of year for you? Me, spring/fall, Frederick year round
What kind of symptoms and medicines do you take? frederick gets sinus infections, congestion, runny nose, etc. I get headaches/allergy pain. I take Singulair, flonase, and Zyrtec. Frederick takes Mucinex, Flonase, Allegra, and Singulair.

Did you have them all your life or develop them over time/environment? I've had them all my life but when I lived in tx I had no problems with them. Neither did Frederick. Got to love the ohio river valley.

Are you or your kids affected by seasonal allergies? Yes and yes to a smaller degree
What is the worst time of year for you?Winter cedar season, Mold season and oak (where we are right now on the last 2)
What kind of symptoms and medicines do you take? Heavy mucus buildup behind my face.. the kind you can feel moving around when you lay on your side..ug! Itchy eyes and throat, nasal problems and migraines. I don't take much.. I use a neti pot and sometimes take a zyrtex.
Did you have them all your life or develop them over time/environment? They were part of the deal when I moved here. Buy a house in Austin, get a sinus infection free.
