I time myself on almost everything I do throughout the day. It used to be worse when I was in school. I would give myself 5 minutes for every item that was packed in my lunch- 5 minutes for sandwich, if not finished then move on to chips, move on to fruit, etc. I'm a little crazy. Also, when I eat dinner, I eat one item at a time. I can't take a bite of chicken then a bite of potatoes.
Corny7474, I eat my food one thing at a time too! All my food has to be separated too, none of it can touch. I do like using gravies, condiments, and sauces but if the sauce is meant for the main course and it bleeds over to my green beans, I just can't eat the "contaminated" beans! I even go so far as to separate my M&Ms and Skittles and eat them one color at a time. I tend to eat the thing I'm least excited about first and leave the best for last!
My husband is amused by it. My Mom says her grandfather, who I never met, ate the exact same way. Maybe its a family thing?
I'm glad I'm not the only one Sandy! My food can touch, but I do eat my least favorite first. I also eat my M&Ms one color at a time. My dad always complains that I eat like a 5 year old, but I just can't do it any other way. Obsessive Compulsive disorder runs in my family.
