I am so exhausted. I'm going on my third night with nearly no sleep. For weeks I've been able to handle waking up a lot every night, but this is not the same. Last night I slept about 3 hours and that was in spurts. My whole body hurts. This PUPPP thing is beyond itching. My whole body is covered in these bumps and everything hurts. I get shingles and sunrashes and they are nothing compared to this. I called my doctor today to get something prescribed as I had to miss another day of class over this stuff. The "nurse" (she's actually a medical assistant) saw my rash on Monday and I thought she'd be able to help. Nope. She called it "the pupps rash" and said there isn't anything to prescribe for it (I looked it up online and found several sites that say there are several prescription creams that can be prescribed to stop the spread, reduce the itch and numb the pain). "Just try putting hydrocortisone cream on it and take a Benadryl every fours hours." That's what I've been doing. In fact I just took two Benadryl (still an acceptable dose) at 8:45 tonight and COVERED my body in cream. Yup, I'm awake. It got less than an hour's sleep and woke up in pain again. There is no possible way to get comfortable. Any way I lay down hurts. Every time I move hurts. I could handle a small patch of this stuff. I did for almost a week, but once this stuff spread everywhere, it's crazy. I just don't know what to do anymore. I thought my doctor's office could be of some relief. Oh, and on top of all of this, my neighbor just got home from overseas (I think he was in Iraq) so I didn't complain the first couple of times he had his stereo up loud, but this is getting old. Our bedroom shares no walls with his apartment, yet for the last two nights (with my bedroom door closed) his music has been so loud until at least 2 in the morning that I can tell exactly what he's listening to. Anybody got a sledge hammer? Maybe I can just knock myself out for a few days until this rash goes away and the neighbor kicks the music habit!

a dear friend of mine has the PUPPS disease as well and she is in pain with it..... she got it with her frista nd only pregnancy and sadly her child passed away(not from the disease) and she has never be able to get pregnant and this was 6 years ago..... She still has it after having him and it's just a constant reminder of what she had to go through with her son only to lose him..... I know how you feel, not personally but just by talking to her and knowing her pain, it has got to be rough.. i can ask her whats he does for her's and see if it may help you? By the way CONGRATS

I ended up barely sleeping again last night then as I was getting ready for school, I passed out on the couch and ended up being 2 hours late! Oops. I guess I needed the sleep.

Sorry your docs office is not of any help and you are going through this misery!!! I would call another doc for a second opinion, preferrably one specialized in skin conditions (dermatologist) and also call the pharmacist and see what he says. Pharmacists are GREAT when it comes to suggesting things, but they can not give you anything without the doc prescription.

Certainly don't go on in misery! Demand attention.

Maybe your neighbor is still transitioning. A gentle welcome back talk with a subtle, I hear you like such=and-such music (could you turn it down a bit)? conversation may help as well.

Good luck with this!
