I thought it would be helpful if we shared book recommendations.

I am currently reading The Happiest Baby on the Block and in it, it describes how to soothe even the fussiest babies and how to get them sleeping longer throughout the night. Here it is on amazon and the reviews that go along with it:

I'm reading Pushed by Jennifer Block. It's really opening my eyes to all the unnecessary things done to women when it comes to labor and delivery. I mean, I knew things were over-medicalized (I don't think that's a word ) but I didn't realize how bad it really is! It's a great read!

My book is a recommendation for your hubbies:

"Be Prepared: A Practical Handbook for New Dads"

My DH LOVES it...and I've thumbed through it now and then. It's accurate info, but termed in "man terms" = totally hilarious!!

Right now I'm reading Birthing From Within. I've only just started it, but so far it is really interesting. I have also ready Hypnobirthing, which I also STRONGLY recommend! It also comes with a CD that has an amazing relaxation track that I listen to every night. It is 20 minutes long, and I am always asleep by 8-10 minutes!
Also, for the SO's, the book called The Birth Partner is AMAZING! Jeff is almost done it, and he now feels so much more comfortable about our birthing day! Here is the link to that book..

I read that in January. I can't remember if I finished all of it, but it was very interesting.

Happiest Baby on the Block. I can't say enough about it. I would also recommend reading a breastfeeding resource, if that is your feeding plan, as it can be much more difficult than anticipated. Hmm. I have What to Expect the First Year on my nightstand, and it's helpful for the basics!

I have a million parenting and baby magazines sitting next to me that I'm trying to work my way through! But I did buy "The Happiest Baby on the Block" and can't wait to read it!

natural childbirth people, I read Natural Childbirth the Bradley Way http://www.amazon.com/Natural-Childb...7724892&sr=8-1 and Husband-Coached Childbirth http://www.amazon.com/Husband-Coache...7724892&sr=8-2 I recommend both and even if you're not planning on a natural birth, the first book is very good at describing exactly what your body goes through during labour & delivery.

I haven't read anything really but I know I probably should. My sister recommended Happiest Baby, so I am going to order that.

I have What to Expect When you are Expecting and What to Expect the First Year and I like both books. I am not a big reader anyway, I just look up information as needed. I kinda just "Winged" it all I guess .

I'm reading The Happiest Baby on the Block as well. And last week I was given New Mothers Guide to Breastfeeding by my midwives. When my sister was pregnant I got her The Diary of a Mad Mom to Be. It's just a chick-lit/fun sort of book, but my sister said it was a great read for a pregnant woman, so she's going to let me borrow it.

You know Jamie, I was going to buy my DH a book like this, but I was kinda afraid that he would be offended as he already has two children.... I dunno.

I agree with Courtney on "What to Expect the First year" I started reading it after Nathan was born but there's lots of great tips in there that I would've liked to have known sooner!
