My new meds are making me so jittery. I feel like I've drank a gallon of coffee and smoked a carton of cigarettes this morning. I'm a total spaz right now. I barely slept last night, I was so hopped up on the meds. I was told this can last 24-72 hours. Hopefully it's on the lower side. I don't know if I can stand myself like this for 72 hours I'm trying to work and all the people I work with must think I'm totally high. Good thing they're just dealing with me virtually today and not in person.

I'm on a terbutaline pump. Terbutaline is an asthma medicine used to stop contractions since it's basically a muscle relaxant. I was getting too many contractions, so my doc put me on this. Just about the time I start feeling normal the pump shoots me full of a new dose. I just got it around 8:00 last night and it's definitely working. I have a monitor to watch contractions that I have to hook myself up to twice a day for an hour. I only had 1 contraction in the hour I was monitoring this morning. I'll be on this until 36W as long as it keeps working, in hopes that the girls won't come before then.

That does not sound fun! I'm sorry you have to go through this. Hopefully it will all be worth it though and the girls will stay in until at least 36 weeks!

I have heard from my PR that the terbutaline has that side effect and it's a weird feeling. I'm sorry you have to go through that, but of course it will all be worth it when those girls keep baking until 36 weeks. Hang in there, Cel. Hopefully the side effects will lessen soon.

Hope you're feeling relief soon! Just the thought of coffee and cigarettes makes me feel totally disgusting!

Oh, Terbutaline sucks!!!! I am so sorry, and i know how you feel. At least it isn't the Magnesium Sulfate- that crap is ten times worse.

*HUGS* girl. It actually does get better over time with the side effects.

I still feel off, but not as wacked out as I did this morning. I just got a dose about 25 minutes ago and I don't feel nearly as bad as I did after the first few doses I think I should feel completely fine on this by tomorrow afternoon.

I've heard that Magnesium Sulfate is much worse. Of course I'll take it if I have to, but I hope to avoid that.
