So I just got back a little while ago from my bloodwork. They said they would call me by 2:30pm so im crossing all fingers...im like I took 7 tests and they all say + and shes like ok then I think your good...and im like ya but I dont believe it yet LOL.
I asked her when I get confirmation from the beta when does the Ultrasound happen. and she said they dont do ultrasound until my Beta is at 1500. Has anyone heard of this? She said that when your beta is under 1500 that the baby hasnt developed enough to be seen on the u/s so if they would do it they would not see anything and I would be freaking out so they dont need any freaking out to be happening.
I have never heard anyone say this I thought it was by how many weeks one is? Im confused...I wonder then how many weeks you need to be to have your beta at 1500?
xoxoxo

I think I read somewhere that your beta has to be over 1000 in order to see something besides a sac developed, but I'm not sure about that. I think they try for around 6 weeks or later just so they can confirm a heartbeat...I think the heart just barely begins to beat at that time or sometime in week 5??
Hopefully some other ladies here can give you some answers!

I never got any beta numbers so not sure. I went in for a blood test twice actually because the first time it came back inconclusive because it was too early. Then several days later the blood test came back positive, but I never got my numbers because I wasn't high risk or anything different. Good luck and I'm sure everything is great!!!! Keep POASing if you need to. We all understand!!!

My IVF doctor doesn't do ultrasounds until 7 weeks -- to make sure that they see everything and that the baby has a heartbeat - since they have to confirm a viable pregnancy before I can be released.

Some doctors go off a beta number and some go off of a date. If they do the u/s before then, you don't see much besides a dot. They want to wait until there should be a heart beat.
I can't wait to hear your results.

Can't wait to hear your numbers!
I had heard that there isn't much to see before your betas are a certain number...when they are 1,500 is going to vary woman to woman, but 6 weeks is pretty much they earliest you'll be able to see the HB, so personally I wouldn't want to go in before that. I saw mine at 5w6d, but a day earlier I might not have seen it.

I have heard that before. Usually by the time you are at 6w your numbers are that high anyway so you shouldn't worry. You should be able to see *something* at 5w but not always a HB until 6w. All RE's are different but I have heard of them waiting until your betas reach a certain number to do an u/s. Good luck!!!!

Im sure everything is going to be great. Take a deep breath! Yes that is true about the beta in order to see anything on the u/s...and your beta should be at least that high by like 6w, so I wouldnt worry. Cant wait to hear your numbers!

I'll tell you that I had an u/s at 5 weeks and they didn't see a heartbeat yet and it made me hysterical. I had another one at 6 wks and everything was fine.... so somewhere around there I would guess. GL
