But how far along were you or are you going to be for your baby shower???

I started thinking of this the other day b/c a friend of mine did her shower 2 months before her due date. So when I started thinking that would lead me to around Christmas. I dont want to sound materialistic or stuck up, but the point of a baby shower is to get gifts, so I was thinking that If I did the shower right before or after christmas I wouldnt get to many, b/c people I know are usually tight for the holidays.

I dont know..just wondering..my due date is right in the beginning of Feb. 3

Thanks!

I am due in November and my sister plans on a shower for late August/early Sept. and my best friend has plans for a late Sept. shower. The earlier the better, IMO, so you know what you're going to get and what you stilll have left to buy and also so that you can be putting stuff together and getting the nursery straight before you're totally miserable. The only things is, since it's not something you throw for yourself, you may have to go with whatever date the hostess suggests!

I'm due Sept 5 and my sister is having a shower for me in 2 weeks. I'll be 28 weeks at the time. I think that's earlier than most people have them, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't put on bed rest or anything before I got to have a shower. I'm still hoping for no bed rest, but wanted to plan ahead.

Thanks! Well I was thinking about it b/c no one is really hosting my shower. I dont want a typical baby shower type of thing. I want it to be a big party. I am going to have it at my mothers new house which is on 2 acres and has an amazing back yard. I want it on a Saturday night type of thing. Its going to be couples and stuff, I just didnt want the whole banquet hall shower thing that your limted to 4 hrs or whatever. Another reason I was thinking of it is b/c since I want it to be like a big house party thing I wanted to enjoy myself too and not be this huge ball rolling around. LoL

Oops, I'm sorry!! I actually think it's a fabulous idea! The shower that my bf is throwing will be co-ed as well. I think that will be great! I totally agree with doing it early while you can still enjoy yourself! So exciting

Jessy, it could also depend on if you are having one baby or twins!! I was pregnant with twins and my sister was thinking that we would have my shower at least 2 months early (like Celry) so I wouldn't be on bedrest or preterm labor,if that happened....

I am thinking of doing mine in early October, since I am due the beginning of December. That way if people need to travel they will be able to do so without the threat of snow since we do seem to get it early some years.

I'm thinking we'll have ours early - my family is 6 hours away - so we'll have to drive up there for it and I don't want to be that far along and traveling like that (my own comfort level).

My first shower is the 13th of this month and I will be just shy of 30w. For me I am glad it is a bit early so that I can get things organized and washed/put away early before I get too big to want to do anything! My sister is doing one July 18th and I will be almost 35 weeks and that is pushing it for me because I want to be ready and have time to go get all the things we would still need. I would say early December would be perfect for you.

I just had mine at 31 weeks. I would do mid November if I were you. That way it's before all the holiday rush.
