So ladies I went in to my RE's office today for my bloodwork. I told the lady at the front desk if there was a doctor in today, b/c I was having very strong cramps last night. I went to bed fine and felt fine all day yesterday. In the middle of the night I had such bad cramps that the pain of it woke me up. I didn't know how to position myself anymore. It would come and go like a wave and I guess it felt like contractions. I was in the fetal position most of the time b/c when I was kinda curled up it felt slightly better.
I finally dozed off for a bit but woke right back up. and I felt like wet I thought I was bleeding. I was so scared and my cramps kept coming and going. So I told my DH to please drive me to the RE's today today. So when I got there they put me in a room and called my doctor cuz no doctor was in at that time yet.
He said for them to do an u/s to see whats wrong.
Well they think they found the problem....
TWINS!
They put the wand in me and started the u/s and said that my cervix looked nice and closed. so then they proceeded to the uterus and honestly I couldnt see much. Then the tech goes, Oh I see the little pregnancy sac. So she measured it. She had told me that I was 4 wks and 6 days pregnant today, which I thought I was 5 weeks today, but w/e a day off. So sac #1 measured at 4wks 5days, then she kept poking around in there and honestly I did not see anything, and all of a sudden shes like how many embryos did they put back, and I told her 2, my heart stopped right there for a moment. She kept poking around and she showed me this little sac and she measured it and it was measuring 4wks4days, 1 day behind than the other one.
So she kept looking around and I have big cysts on both ovaries, and they are very swollen still from the IVF. And then she put on the screen a view that you were able to see both Sacs and she put Sac 1 Sac 2 and I started crying! I was in shock and couldnt believe it.
She told me that everything looks good so far and just to try to be positive but a lot can happen, sometimes 1 baby can get reabsorbed, etc. But that as of today it all looks on track.
My IVF nurse then told me that I need to double my liquids. She thinks that im my uterus is contracting because I dont have enough liquids, and that now since 2 babies show I need to drink double. She told me she wants me to drink water every minute! I was like ok. She told me to stay positive, but preparred. Since Im technically still early.
The doctor was going to review everything on the u/s and he told me to keep my appt. for next thurs. which I guess according to them I will be 6 wks. My husband was like I told ya! and he keeps telling me to stop being negative! So as of right now Im the mommy to twins. I am praying that both keep growing strong and that I get 2 strong sticky beans.
I will update later also with my 4th beta. They told me that it would probably be my last.

YAY congrats Mama
I'm sorry you're in so much pain but I guess it's all worth it. Are they going to do anything about the cyst?

I knew it!!! Congratulations Jessy!!!! I had a huge cyst on my right ovary from where I O'd and it eventually went away but it is totally normal and won't hurt the babies! I also have noticed that I get really crampy when I am dehydrated too. Gatorade has become my best friend! I have been known to wake up crampy and drink a whole gatorade in like 2 minutes and then go back to sleep and the cramps go away. It usually happens at night because I am not drinking. Drinking enough has been really challenging for me because usually I ONLY drink with meals but I have been having to have something on hand all day. Just remember if you drink soda that doesnt count and actually makes you have to drink MORE water to make up for the sodium in the soda. So DRINK DRINK DRINK!!!

Congrats! My twins were measuring a day or two off of each other at first. It's very common.
I'll second the water thing. If you're like me, you'll find that you want a lot more water. I drink at least 100 oz/day, usually more. I bring 32 oz to bed with me and most nights I finish it. I wake up more often to drink than I do to use the bathroom. Your body definitely needs all the extra water.
Another thing you'll need lots of is protein. Protein will make your babies gain lots of weight. Your body doesn't store protein to use at a later time like it does with carbs, so you'll want to try to make sure you get protein at every meal. I swear I'm going on an egg strike once my little ones are here. I've eat eggs for breakfast almost every day.

Well they told me that the cysts are very normal especially for after IVF so they really didnt say that they will do anything about it. I guess if I am futher along and they keep growing and growing then I might have a problem but I guess its just a wait and see. The same way now its just a wait and see type of thing til my next u/s to see if both babies make it or not. I just have to keep on prayinggg!

Congrats Jessy!!!!! Yeah you def. want to drink lots of water. My RE told me because water is making me kind a nauseated now to drink gatorade too for some flavor. Keep thinking positive things and by your next ultra sound your will see too babies and two beautiful heartbeats. My twins are measuring the same but they are one day day behind. You will also feel lots of twinging and I think I had cramping off and on up until about 6 weeks. So try and stay calm.

congrats!!! I'm so happy to hear your nurse warned you that since it's early one baby may reabsorb, because no one ever warned me about that and when it happened I was completely devastated (I would have liked to have been prepared to some extent).
I remember waking up feeling the same way and I too had to drink like it was my job! I also found I had to eat allllll the time in the beginning otherwise I was nauseated. That started right away so if you are getting the icky feeling, time to eat!!
Nonetheless, I'm excited for you and praying that both of your babies grow to be healthy and strong!!! Can't wait to hear updates

Lyz thank you for sharing your story. I guess since I have been on the IVF boards for a some time now I know a couple of girls who that happend to. So that is why I knew it is possible especially since I did the u/s early. I wasnt suppose to have the u/s til next week. I have also heard about the vanishing twin thing. And a girl who i became clsoe friends with on the boards b/c she lives here in Miami too, told me that it has happend to her with all 3 of her pregnancies, everytime she did her 1st u/s there were two sacs.
I know that deep down I am excited, and of course if one doesnt make it,, it will be sad and hard, but I really just am praying for a healthy baby. If God blesses me with two, I would be estatic but at the same time I am just counting all my blessings right now. Thank you for sharing your story with me
