I'm very confused and frustrated with my body. I've been waiting to bleed because that's what everyone tells me needs to happen. Well i had some brown spotting yesterday and a tiny bit this morning but it never sticks around. It always goes away and then comes back and goes away. I just wish it would happen already so i could move on. I had high expectations for today because my temps had been decreasing the past couple days. I was hoping it would go down even more today and then i'd start bleeding finally. But my temp went back up. I don't know how much i can rely on my temps but i've always heard and seen from the other ladies on here that your temps go down when your body is miscarrying or about to miscarry. TCOYF says this as well and also says that your temps stay high when you're pregnant because of the levels of progesterone.
And then there's the test i took this morning. I've learned that it takes longer for HCG to get out of your urine than your bloodstream and that's how they justified my betas being 0 on saturday when i had a + urine test that morning. Makes sense. But i figured by now my tests should at least be fading right? NOPE! The IC i took this morning was quite a bit darker than any of the other ICs i've taken, even the one i took on the same day i got a + FRER and digital. I guess this might not mean anything at all but it sure is confusing the heck out of me. I've always heard of people's tests getting lighter. How could the HCG in my urine be increasing if there is 0 left in my bloodstream? Maybe i just don't understand this well enough? The lady who gave me the last beta results did say "well it could be a fluke" Why the heck would she tell me this? How could there be flukes?! They shouldn't make those kind of mistakes. I just decided to believe the results were accurate because why wouldn't they be?
I'm not saying this because i'm trying to look for a way that i could possibly still be pregnant. I'm nowhere near that hopeful and wouldn't put myself through hope just to be let down all over again. This long process is just causing me so much heartache and i can't help but sometimes hear the lady's words in my head "it could just be a fluke" I feel like i'm going crazy and just wish i knew what was up.
Sorry this is so long. I really just needed to vent. Does anyone have any explanation as to why all this is happening or has anyone been through this?
Thank you so much for listening.

O my goodness Krista. I am so sorry you are dealing with this. I would be freaking out too. I was freaking out all weekend not knowing why my body was being so retarded. If the nurse told me "it could be a fluke"...I would be even MORE confused too. I am not sure what is going on. Maybe wait a couple days...test again...and if you still get a positive test...go back to the doc. That will probably ease your mind. I hope you can get this all figured out and move on one way or another.

sorry I missed all of this Krista
Just so I can be clear, you went and got blood drawn and your numbers went from 31 to 0, right? When was this last draw?
If it were me and i was still get a +HPT (that's darker than any other test) but my #s are supposed to be zero, I would maybe call my OB and ask them to have your numbers ran again for peace of mind or get a second opinion from another OB office.
I have seen/heard so many women go through the heartache that they were told they are miscarrying and in actual they aren't! (Andrea: Chloe2005 is a PRIME example!)
I understand not wanting to get your hopes up but at this point you are in such limbo it's not fair! To me, I would think if you had a 0 HCG you should be bleeding red, not brown. But, that's just my opinion so take it for what's its worth
I hope you can get some answers very soon!!! I'm axiously waiting to hear. Hugs!!

Oh Krista - this must be so hard on you! You just want to know what's happening with your body!! I would definitely recommend you call your OB. I recall reading about someone here on JM having a blood draw that said not pregnant, but she was SURE, and it turns out the blood sample got switched! I am not trying to raise your hopes only to have them come crashing down again...but at the same time, you deserve answers, and it IS possible for hospitals to make mistakes now and again. That being said, I have also heard that the HCG can stay around in your urine a bit longer than in your blood. But even with that in consideration, it seems hard to believe you'd be getting a DARKER BFP now after supposedly your hormones should be tapering off back to pre-pregnancy levels. I hope you can get answers soon!! GL!

Krista: Sweetie - I'm so sorry you are having to go through this. Did you actually see an OB or was it only at an urgent care clinic? Did they check your uterus -- or just do blood work? I'm really confused about your HCG levels being "0" and then you still getting a positive urine test. When I had my mc last year - it took 3 weeks for my body to actually miscarry naturally --- BUT my HCG numbers were around 47,000 and had to drop. If I were you I would call an OB and go in for a second opinion. My prayers are with you that you can find some answers! Please keep up posted!

Krista, I'm SO sorry it's been so stressful for you. I'm going to tell you this to be HONEST so take it as you will. There were several girls in my DDC that were having positive urine tests and went to the doctor and had negative blood tests, and ended up being pregnant. I can understand it takes a few days for Hcg levels to decrease, but it makes no sense that you are still geting dark bfp's. I would DEFINETELY call your doctor and request a 2nd blood draw, or at least talk to them about all of this. Blood tests aren't fool proof and getting a 2nd opinion may not be a bad idea. My thoughts and prayers are with you no matter what. I hope you can get this all figured out soon chica. LOTS OF

It doesn't make sense does it? Lyz- i had my first beta done on thursday and second on saturday. The first was 31, second was 0. At this point i'm not sure whether to schedule an appointment or just order another blood test to be done. What do you guys think?

I have no experience in this, but I also agree that I think they should run your b/w again... that last test was Saturday, right? I think just to *know* one way or another, a bloodtest is in order [again]. LOTS OF HUGS, girlie...

I didn't go to an actual OBGYN so they didn't check my cervix or anything. I'm thinking about maybe getting another blood test done but i'd just be so nervous about the results. I don't know if i could go through that all over again.

I would ask for a pelvic exam to check your cervix and a blood draw.

Oh - I know how very scary it is...I've been there...try to stay strong and remember God doesn't give us more than we can handle! I would call an OB -- I think they might be able to give you clearer answers...and they can tell you if your cervix is closed, etc. Hang in there sweetie -- you can do this!

I would definitely talk/go to an OB's office instead of a general practicioner. I think you'll find them to be much more knowledgeable and hopefully, more understanding of how this is wreaking havoc on your mind. GL.

I would call your OB and ask their opinion as to whether you should see them or just get another blood draw. Make sure it's an actual OB and not the front desk telling you this. I'd imagine they would want you to have anothe blood draw and see them for the results, but everyone is different.
I know you don't want to have to go through the anxiety of another blood draw/call back but this will give you peace of mind either way.
Keep us posted!!

I'm so sorry Krista. This must be terribly frusterating and difficult to be in limbo at this point. I agree with the others though, I would call your OB and see if you can get in to see your doc. That way the doc can explain the entire process to you so you can better understand what is happening with your body. Also, I would get another beta. It seems strange that the number actually went to 0 so quickly. At least with having another one done, you would know for sure what is going to happen. Lots of prayer headed your way.

I gotta say I agree with Lyz sweetie.
Definitely see an OB. This is their specialty for a reason. They know things, look for things a GP may very well not think to look for. An OB will have seen a myriad of different pregnancies and have knowledge of all the things that can happen that would make the untrained mind devolve into a total freak out.
As tough as it may be to have to hear the news again, you need to know one way or the other. You will not be able to "move on", as you've said you want to, until you know what is going on.
You can do this.

Good luck Krista! I think the OB is the way to go, after all they are EXPERTS in pregnancy, general practitioners are not. An OB will be able to give you a much clearer picture of what's going on. I'm so sorry you've had to go through all this. I'm on pins and needles waiting for your appt!

Oh I am glad that you made an appt with your OB. At least now you can be confident one way or the other as to what your body is doing. I wish you LOTS AND LOTS of LUCK at your appt today!
