I officially have gestation diabetes. I have taken everything else this pregnancy has thrown at me in stride, but this is my breaking point. I am so upset. I am not over weight. I eat extrmely healthy. I'm making sure I eat a ton of protein and virtual no junk carbs. I have to meet with a nutritionist and a diabetic counselor next week. I have no idea how I'm going to manage this without insulin. My body is just not handling this pregnacy well. On top of everything else, I now have to worry about how my babies are growing. A is already a little small, which is not good. I usually try not to complain, but I really am so upset about this.

Oh sweetie, I'm so so sorry. That really stinks - you're doing EVERYTHING right but your body refuses to cooperate! I hope you can find a way to fix things naturally, but if not, just try to keep in mind that many many women go through this and end up healthy with healthy babies. I'm sure it will all turn out fine in the end.

Cel, it seems like you've had one thing after another to deal with without any break! I am sorry about the GD. Like you said, this doesn't reflect on your diet or overall health, but is an indication of your body stagine a little bit of a revolt. There are amazing techniques to help control the GD and allow your girls the maximum time to grow. I can't tell you not to be upset because in your shoes I would be having a hard time, too. Give yourself a couple of days to process the info and then move forward knowing that while this is a bit miserable it's all for those precious babies. You can do this, I know it.

Aw, so sorry to hear about the GD. If its not one thing, its another. I hope that you can go without insulin, and just manage it with your diet.

I'm so sorry...it's so frustrating when our bodies just don't want to cooperate with us...even though we try to do everything right...
I don't know much about it, but I hope that it can be controlled easily, and that there will be no harm to you or your babies.

I'm so sorry to hear this. Your body just won't seem to give you a break! Hopefully the GD will be easily controlled with diet. If not, I'm sure the insulin will. I know it must be hard to deal with it all right now, but just try to keep the end in sight. As soon as your healthy girls are born, you'll be right back to your normal self.

From what I´ve read in your posts, I´m not sure you could improve your diet much!, you already seem to be doing everything right, so just think what it would be like if you ate fastfood everyday and never ate anything healthy.
Just remember what my Aunt was always told, that a twin pregnancy is more than twice as hard as a singleton one but more than twice the reward at the end.

Thanks everyone. It really helped reading everyone's responses. I usually take this stuff in stride, but I haven't had a good appointment in weeks. I finally got some good news this afternoon. My doctor agreed to let me have more than 3 contractions in an hour and not fail my monitoring. I'm now allowed 6 since they aren't changing my cervix I can't begin to count the number of times I've had to monitor 2 or 3 times in a row because I had 4 contractions. This will give me time to work on some things around the house. Not that I plan on being super active, but the inactivity doesn't help the diabetes and many days I spend at least 4 hours laying on my side monitoring.

I'm sorry Cel, this pregnancy is throwing a lot at you. Glad you got some good news though! You will get through this, and I am already amazed at how well you are handling it all b/c it is a LOT to handle. Hope you are still feeling better

I'm sorry that things re just coming one after another Cel! After struggling so hard to get pregnant, you shouldn't have to deal with all of this too! I hope that you can start getting some good news your way....

I'm sorry to hear this Cel...everyone has already said it, but this pregnancy has thrown a lot at you. You will be in good hands though, and the docs won't let anything happen to the babies. And just think, your little babies will be here in the outside world before you know it..HUGS
