So last night I woke up from a sound sleep short of breath and feeling like I wasn't getting enough oxygen. It left me feeling a little panicky and seeing as I am carrying really high plus the fact that i'm only 5'3" I am not suprised by this. I was just wondering who all experienced it and what you did to give yourself relief or to feel better.

I have read the article on justmommies that says to rest but I was sleeping so I was resting and not over exerting myself to cause the shortness of breath. Any tips of wisdom are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have never been woken up by SOB but I do get it when I am walking a lot or going up stairs. I am carrying low though. Recently I thought I felt like I couldn't breath and was freaking out and realized it was heartburn! I have been getting lots of reflux but just recently started getting like chest pains from it and it gets tight like I can't breathe.

I don't have any tips though...your baby is beginning to push up on your lungs and invade your space!

Thanks April...at least I know I'm not the only one to have a little panic about breathing. Yes...I'm carrying very high and she is literally right on my diaphragm. Last night we had to use a cold pack and massage with stretch mark cream to get her to move down a little.

I've also been told to thump her and also so sing the "hush little baby...mockingbird" song to get my breathing back in rhythm (a friend who is an asthmatic told me that one which they use when they forget their inhaler and have shortness of breath).
