We had our birthing classes this weekend, and I found out that my DH has NEVER changed a diaper! EVER! I thought that was so weird. But maybe it is common for dudes? What about your DH's/SO's? Have they ever changed a diaper?
(My DH was funny...when he changed the doll, he tucked the onesie into the diaper...looks like we have a lot of teaching moments ahead of us!)

Our newborn class is this weekend so I am anxious to see what DH does! I don't know if he has NEVER changed one but he refuses to even change my 2 y/o nephew's diaper. Even when it is just pee! I asked him what he was going to do when he had to clean poop out of Haylea's hoo ha and he said "eew...it gets in there??????" Ummm...yeah honey it gets everywhere!

lol When Christian was born, DH changed the diapers while at the hospital because it was a hassle for me to get out of bed (I was pretty sore so I only got up when I had to pee). He also changed a few once we got home, but he hasn't changed on in months. I was the one who had not changed a diaper before I had Christian and I was honestly a little freaked out the first time because I didn't want to screw up. lol Funny looking back now.

My DH has also never changed a diaper. But we made a "deal" on our honeymoon that if he didn't have to change diapers, I didn't have to work lol So I'm sure he will change some, but I'll be in charge of 95% of them which is fine with me! He actually thinks he got the better end of the deal too

Funny! I think DH may have changed maybe 2 diapers in his life before Paige, but since I had a c section I was in bed and not able to get up for almost 24 hours he HAD to change the diapers. He's done such a great job. He said what people say about it being totally different when it's your own kid is sooooo true.
Oh and April, tell your DH that the poop DEFINITELY gets in her little whoo ha pretty much every time she poops. Especially if you BF...the poop is soooo watery and gets everywhere!!!

my DH has changed maybe a handful of my niece's diapers but never a poopy one. He always said he'd wait until our baby is born to do that. Ha, he has NO idea what a newborn diaper is like haha!
We have an agreement though. I'll change the majority of poopy diapers but the minute our child is eating solid food and throws up, it's all him! (I'm petrified of puke....I keep hoping that'll change with my own baby. we'll see!)

Dh fessed up a few weeks ago that he's never changed a diaper. I couldn't believe it with the amount of time we've spent with my nieces and nephews. He must be good at disappearing when it's changing time. He has no objection to changing our girls diapers though, so he'll just have to learn once they are born. He says he doesn't want to learn on my nieces and nephews now since they are older and on solid foods.

DF has never changed one either. He doesnt seem bothered that he will be which is good! Im sure it will take some practice as does everything but with newborns peeing and pooping alot theres plenty of chances to practice.

DH knew, he has 6 younger siblings so he changed diapers in his day. He's not scared of it! He's great at it when he remembers, oh yea I forgot to check/change the diaper! He changed the first meconium diaper too

My DH used to babysit his three cousins when we were first engaged (at the time they were - 11, 5, and newborn). So he did have some experience but - he said his last diaper was a diarrhea diaper which caused him to puke. And he always said he'd never change another diaper again.
I got him to change Siera's diaper when she was 3 months for the first time... That was the ONLY time he's done it. He refuses to change a diaper when I'm home and capable of doing so and the only way he will change her diaper is if I'm not home.

I don't think my DH has ever changed one either. He was so funny when we took our newborn class this week. On the way home he told me that he still needs a lot more practice with the diapers.

My DH is better at it than I am!!! LOL. He's had a lot of experience changing adult diapers, as he has worked with adults with disabilities. Works for me! LOL

DH has never changed one, but we'll both be beginners since we're going to use cloth.

No, Jeff never had either. The nurses taught him at the hospital, though, and now he's a pro.

DHs 2 younger brothers were born when he was 12 and 14, so heŽs a pro, (however the CD dont have pictures on the front so there are times when I change her and the nappy is on backwards! youŽd think it would be hard to velcro them behind her back, but he manages!
