OK I'm trying to figure out the best/most affordable way to send out birth announcements. I would love to have something done that I can email to the majority of our friends and family and then just order actual birth announcements for our close family - to save money. Does anyone know where I can find out how to do digital birth announcements? I have photoshop but don't really know much about it - any suggestions???

I don't know much about them, but I know my SIL took the picture herself and then had them made like you do Christmas Cards. She said it was super cheap.

Shutterfly has some adorable birth announcements- but they're about 1.30 a piece.... vistaprint is usually pretty cheap- i order a lot from there...

The only electronic invite place I know of is evite.com..... but I think you may just be able to come up with something cute yourself! I may also ask around on the digital scrapbooking board or one similar. Those girls are SO talented and may be able to help ?!?!

Here's my advice... have *Sharon* make you a digital card using pictures you send her. She can do simple ones that are just one picture with writing over it, or she can do collages with info on it. She only charges $10 to do it and send you the digital file! You can email that to friends and family, and then you can print them in any size you want (be sure you tell Sharon what size you will print in so she can format it correctly) from anywhere you want (I recommend Welcome to Flickr - Photo Sharing because they have the best color).

Don't know about digital announcements, but for printed ones costco photo online prints for pretty cheap. I love shutterfly buit they can get super expensive. Costco will print packs of 50 and give you envelopes for $14.99. Can't find anywhere that can beat that price.
