Well this morning I had stopped spotting so I was happy. But it started again in the afternoon right before I got in to see my doctor. The appt took forever because one of the doctors in the practice was sick so she couldnt go in and it delayed everyone. We finally got in 2 hours after my appt time.

Well I first told her that I was spotting and worried about it. I also told her that my RE had found a hemotoma yesterday. So she did a vaginal u/s and the hema was gone! But I was still bleeding. She said that I had some blood around the cervix but my cervix is long and closed.

I asked her many questions and one of the big ones was how she felt about vaginal twin births. She told me that at the practice they really dont like to do vaginal births with twins b.c of all the complications that can happen. I told her my concerns about the csections and she finally told me that if I really wanted to do it that she would let me try if both babies are facing down but if they are not then she would not recommend doing it. I was very bummed. I dont want to have a csection, but I will take it day by day. She told me that we still have a bunch of time and that we will see what happens.

I will also start seeing a perinatologist every 2 weeks for them to do a cervical check and make sure all is going good with the twins. She also said that I am very high risk b/c of everything that I have done. So she will be checking me more, plus the peri. So I am happy that I will be getting closing monitored. I go back to see her in 2 weeks. and then 2 weeks after that I go to see the peri.

I also spoke to her about the weight issue. I went in today and lost more weight!! I lost 2 lbs from week 6 to 7 then I lost another 4 pounds this week!!! I was like omg when I saw the scale. I asked her how much I should gain for a twin pregnancy since I am overweight to begin with and she said about 40 lbs but that she woudl be happy if I gain btwn 30-35 so thats my goal hopefully I can maintain that so it wouldnt be too hard to lose it after.

Well keep praying for my two lil beans! I hope that the bleeding does not affect them.

Thanks!

I'm glad the appt went well! Whatever happens natural or c-section at birth, you will have beautiful twin babies.

Sounds like a good appointment. My OB will only do a vaginal birth if both twins are head down. Even then, you run the risk of the second one turning and needing a csection. Someone in the multiples board had that with her twins. Often, twin b is a bit bigger than A, so you really don't want B born breech if you can help it. Especially since some women's cervix closes up a little bit after delivering twin A.

I really did not want a csection when I first found out I was having twins. Now I pretty much assume I will and will be surprised if I don't. Twin B is sitting breech and has been most of the pregnancy. She periodically moves transverse, but is usually back to her regular position in a few hours. The further I get, the more I just hope they stay in long enough and how they come out isn't an issue any longer.

I lost a few pounds in the beginning as well. Not as much as you though. I'm only up 25 even though a lot of docs want you up 20 lbs by week 20. My doctor isn't concerned about the amount I've gained since the babies and I are all doing well. I'm just making sure what I eat is quality food. During the first trimester, once m/s struck, I was more concerned with getting anything down and practically lived on cereal and bagels.

I'll keep praying for your beans and watching for your updates. I hope you have a very smooth pregnancy.

I am glad they are monitoring you closely! Believe me, going every 4 weeks is TORTURE! Hopefully each appt you will feel more and more at ease. As far as the weight loss...I lost weight too in the beginning because of nausea and lack of appetite. I actually drank Ensure with extra protein to help make sure I got everything I needed. They are actually pretty good! Try not to worry about the weight...just eat what you can and it will come. The babies wont' be malnourished in the first tri...they will take what they need from you and it will be YOU that is malnourished! Also I agree with Cel on the vag birth. If they both aren't head down I wouldn't risk it. Believe me, by the end of this pregnancy you won't care how they come but just that they come safely. I am looking at a possible c/s too because mine is breech (I think!) and although I don't want it...no one WANTS a c/s...I will take it if that is what needs to be done.

That's great that your beans are still safe. Which ever way they get here will be awesome no matter what. A woman in my Playroom delivered both twin girls vaginally. She even when into birth on her own at 37+ weeks, there were no interventions either. So stop worrying about a c-section and all the bad stuff that can happen and start planning that Baby Shower girl!!!

Sounds ike you have a great medical team on your side, Jessy. Take it month-by-month, or week-by-week, and it will all unfold as it needs to. As April and Cel said, as long as they are both out safely, then it is mission accomplished!

I´m glad that all is well with both babies and Mummy. I only had one baby and after week 38 I would have been happy for her to come out of my mouth as long as she was out and healthy!. I gained 42lbs for a 6lb baby and now its all gone (except 6lbs of boobs) so gaining a lot of weight doesnt mean bigger babies. Keep eating well and I will be checking for your updates.

I'm glad to hear that you will be closely monitered! I ended up in a c-section and was upset at first, but after the girls were here I was so glad. They were so tiny and fragile and Baby A had to go under oxygen... A vaginal birth would have been nicer for me....but harder on them. They weren't the hardy 7-8 pounders most people have. And that was at 36 weeks. Also....I gained (yelp) 63 pounds with the girls, and I was a bit overweight to begin with. I lost 55 of it without trying the first 2 months. I'm about 10 pounds heavier now then I was before, and figure I'll have to work that off, but all in all not too bad. I wouldn't worry about the weight....just eat right...you've got three mouths to feed! Drink lots of water and eat tons of lean protein. My OB suggested lowfat or nonfat cottage cheese as an alternative to meat. It is loaded with protein! I was eating a ton of it by the end of my pregnancy. Good Luck! KUP!

Jessy is there a reason that you don't want a C-Sect???

Both of the girls were head down when I was in labour so they told me to go vaginal (I asked for a c-sect trying to diminish the stress on the babies seeing as they were so early but they said there was no difference at this point). After Kadee was born Samara flipped and went up high. They broke her waters and tried to pull her out by the leg and she wasn't budging so I ended up having an emergency c-sect with her.

I know its each to their own, but after having had both types of birth I really don't see the big deal. I'll be doing a c-sect this time around as well to try and preserve what little workable cervix I have left.

Jessie,
glad to hear your appt went well! regarding weight, I wouldn't worry about it - many many women lose weight early, and especially since you say you were a bit overweight to start with, it shouldn't hurt babies at all. as for the vaginal vs. C-section birth, I say, stick to your guns. I've known several people to successfully give birth to twins vaginally. If you want to do it that way, don't let them pressure you out of it, k? Stick to your guns, girl! It's your body!
