Actually some people say we should be drinking whole Vitamin D milk...just drink whatever you like! Try not to get too wrapped up in all the do's and dont's when it comes to food...just remember moderation is key.

1% for me But I'd pick skim over soy... that's just my preference though! I don't know that one's any better than the other!

Oh ok...I was just asking because I switched to drinking soy milk last yr. I had a trama last yr. I was at a restaurant and asked for a new dessert they had which was milk with a big cookie. So all of our friends we got the same thing. When I went to drink the milk....it was completely rotten!!! I threw up all over the table it was just completely disgusting!! Since that day I have not had regular milk again. I know soy milk doesnt rot has fast so I have been having that.

But since Ihave lost so much weight, I was wondering what would be better for the babies. I had forgotten to ask my Dr.

Oh I can imagine not wanting to drink milk after that! My sister drank soy during her pregnancies and was fine. Try drinking an Ensure or Carnation instant breakfast once or twice a day. That might help you feel like you are giving them everything they need...it did for me when I was worried about losing weight.

I drink soy because I was pouring milk on my cereal very recently and it was bad and I started gagging and was almost throwing up everywhere so I can't do regular milk anymore. In regards to calcium intake, soy and reg. milk are the same (I checked b/c I was concerned about the same thing) so it's just preference!! But April is right, try drinking carnation breakfast as a snack or add some protein powder to your soy if you're concerned. Those babies will tell you when you need more if you do

I also enjoy a huge glass of chocolate silk milk at night...YUM!! I kinda want one now

I'm a huge skim milk fan but you are probably fine drinking soy milk. I'm also in love with 1% chocolate milk lately, it's become a staple in my diet.

I drank whole milk for a while. I don't right now since I am eating a lot of other dairy (cheese, ricotta etc) w/ my GD.

I would watch how much soy you consume during pregnancy. There are some people who now question the long term effects of too much soy on a developing female's reproductive system. That being said, there are always studies to show one thing or another. I still eat/drink soy while preggo, but not as much as I did before. I rarely had real milk before because I didn't like it. I've loved it during pregnancy though.
