How long after you had your baby does AF make her lovely appearance?

Mine came at 7.5 weeks PP but I wasn't breast-feeding.

Gwen it sorta varies especially for those who breastfeed. There are some women who exclusively BF in my PR that are just now getting AF.

Elliott is 5 months old next week and she is still on vay-cay! I thought she had returned about 6 weeks PP, but it was actually just a last hurrah of the PP bleeding. I am BF'ing, so I think that's why. People in my PR got AF back at varying lengths of time if they weren't BF'ing.

ditto Becky, it varies for everyone. I'm still BFing and mine came back on Dec 11th, 2008, 4 weeks after my PP bleeding finally stopped. Some women are lucky and go a whole year without an appearance from AF and others, like me, have their cycles return right away.

I had 6 weeks of PP bleeding & then AF returned 3 weeks after that . So I was 9 weeks PP. But I wasn't BF. I know it varies widely for those who are. I actually just got my 2nd PP AF yesterday, 4 days early...yippee! lol

I'd also heard lots of stories about how different your first PP AF is... some say it's more more painful, some say it's just weird, some say the bleeding is heavier. I used to have very painful cramps, but with both of these periods, my cramping seems to have improved. Hopefully that continues! My first AF was very heavy for the first day or two & then the bleeding almost all but stopped & I practically just had spotting for another couple of days. This cycle seems much more evened out so far. I'll take it.

My sister did not get AF while she BF her first child. She stopped BFing around 11 months and then get preggo right away without getting AF. This time around she stopped BFing after 10 months, with a large supply of breast milk in the freezer, and just got AF for the first time in years.

I was the same way. I was ready for Hellish AFs but I've had 7 so far and not one has been super painful or extremely heavy *knock on wood*.

I've known people who are BFing to go well over a year without it, and I've known them to get it 4 weeks PP as well. It varies so much! I'm 7 1/2 wks PP and EBFing. I have cramps today and I hope it's not the witch getting ready!
