is the gestational sac and yolk sac the same thing...if not, which comes first...
Sorry if this is a stupid question...it has just been kinda bugging me since my ultrasound a few weeks ago at about 5 weeks and all they could see was the yolk sac.
Yes, they are separate. The gestational sac is the black circle you saw on u/s the yolk sac was inside it...probably a small dot. The yolk sac is what feeds the baby until the placenta develops. When they said they only saw a yolk sac I am sure they meant that was all that they saw inside the gestational sac, kwim?
Ok...so that's good then... Just wasn't sure...they didn't show me anything on the ultra sound. I'm hoping Monday if they do another, I at least get to see something!!
