Hi girls, I have a question about how much you felt your baby move at 23 weeks or so. I had been feeling the baby move quite a bit since 18 weeks with it gradually increasing - it felt like popcorn or pop rocks in my abdomen. Very cool! And it was easily identifiable.

Well, this past week we finished our move to our new place and have been exhausted. And I usually feel her move at least once a day and haven't been feeling her move at all so we went to the doctor and they checked her heartbeat which was great.

I just don't know why I'm not feeling her as much all of a sudden and it worries me. We've tried music, flashlight, jostling or tapping on my belly and it doesn't produce much of any movement at all.

How much did you feel your baby move at this point in your pregnancy and how often? My doctor said I should feel her move at least once a day but I'm worried what if I can't get her to move like that. Did you guys do anything to get your baby to move around?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hugs!

I definately had about a week or so right around 23-24 weeks where she wouldn't move much. It seems to be a common time...maybe growth spurt. Also when you are moving a lot for one you aren't paying attention to movements and it also is like rocking for the baby and usually the baby will sleep. I am sure she is just resting up and growing big! I know it can freak you out though.

I'm way too early to know anything about movement, but I just wanted to say that as long as the Dr still heard a healthy heartbeat, I'm sure your baby is doing fine. I hope she starts getting more active again soon!

Well I am only 19 weeks and I was starting to wonder the same thing!!! I feel the LO move *sort of, I think * every so often... but it's not really that regular and there really isn't a pattern! I was beginning to wonder if everything was alright! I'm sure once the LO's start growing a bit more we'll feel their movements constantly

Thanks April! and Rachel! We've been exhausted from moving and I hope she's just fattening up a bit. I read that they sleep 12-14hrs a day and the moving around alot / rocking makes sense. I will keep you guys posted on how she does.

Thanks for calming my nerves a bit.

Also, my blood sugar from my pee stick was a bit high so I have to go in tomorrow for a 1hr Glucose Tolerance Test. Did you guys eat anything before your test? I was told I didn't have to fast but not to have anything with sugar in it beforehand - food or drink-wise.

This is a great question since some days I feel like she's moving quite a bit and other days, not so much (which of course worries me)...but I think the girls are right about the baby just growing and all the moving that you've done recently. Baby is just probably nice and cozy in there

When I did my first 1 hr gloucose test at 16 weeks (I am at VERY high risk for gestational diabetes because of my family history and PCOS/insulin resistance)...I think I may have had a boiled egg and some water. Mine was pretty early in the morning though, so there wasn't a whole lot of time to get hungry. I also made sure to stick some crackers/protein bars/snacks in my purse and a bottle of water for after the blood draw so I could eat immediately after it was finished.

Good luck tomorrow!

April, Try not to panic. If you have been busier than normal with the move, I found that Elliott would be much less active the next day. IF I wanted to prod him into moving, I would drink some really cold water, lie down and take some really deep breaths. It is very worrisome when you don't feel the baby much.

The baby has probably been moving while you've been so busy. I hardly every noticed movement when I was that far along and teaching all day because I was always moving! I do remember going a couple of days between feeling him, and I was scared. But every time, everything was fine.

I don't know anything about movement, but it seems like everyone has answered...and I am sure everything is a.o.k!!! I'm sure your LO will get back to waking you, and making you uncomfortable with kicks and movements soon!!!

I was told to not eat anything for 2 hours before my GTT and nothing really sugary before that. Good luck!
