Alice had her two month shots a couple days ago (which I was NOT happy about whatsoever, but I won't make this into a rant/debate about shots. I may change pedis though...) and a check-up.

Alice now weighs exactly ten pounds and is growing perfectly. The pedi said her skills were at a three-month level, whatever that means lol. The only remaining concern is her right eye... she has had some sort of infection since birth that has not been cleared up with any meds. Her eye produces a LOT of green "goop", and the surrounding areas are a little red. We have been to the doc several times for this, and the ER once when she spiked a fever. The pedi FINALLY listened to me and referred us to a pediatric opthamologist. That appointment is on the tenth of this month, so I will update afterward. I am really hoping this new round of medication will help the infection before we even go to that appointment. It does not seem to hurt or bother her at all, so I am glad for that.

So I am going to add some new pictures from the past week or so. Hope you enjoy!

Ah, OMG she is so darn cute! I have to tell you, Camryn had a goopy eye that wouldn't heal for a few weeks too. My midwife told me it was caused by a blocked tear duct. She said to keep squirting breast milk into her eye. It worked and it healed within a week...so start getting her in the eye! lol She seriously gets more adorable every time I see new pics! I bet you can't get enough of her....

She looks great! I was going to mention the blocked tear duct as well. 2 of my nieces has that and from your description, it sounds like that's what it might be.

I was going to make the same suggestion. Seriously, it sounds odd, but BM works wonders!! Plugged ducts are VERY common in babies and I would squirt some BM in Christian's affected eye and let it pool to the corner of his eye and let it sit there while I nursed him so it worked its magic for a good 20 minutes or so. I hope her eye clears up soon!

She's beautiful and I can't believe she's 2 months old already!!

Lauren, thanks for the update! I had been wondering about you guys!! Oh and she is just adorable. I love the "I Love Mommy" outfit!!! And 10lbs - wow she is growing! Glad to hear that the appointment went well, but sorry your pedi wouldn't listen to you. That's too funny about squirting BM in her eye. Sounds so cruel, but I've heard that BM helps so many things. Def worth a try! Crazy what our bodies produce!!!

Adorable! TFS the new pics, Lauren. I hope we see you around more often! And I changed pedis at around a month and a half. . a mommy's gotta do what a mommy's gotta do! I hope the eye yuck gets better soon--I have heard the same recommendation about putting the BM in the eye to help.

She looks a bright little button, and shes gaining weight well. I always get Ana in the eye with the BM anyway, so perhaps it has preventative qualities too! She looks like her Daddy!

Thanks so much ladies! The internet is out at home so I always use my stepdad's comp while I am over here, so I haven't a lot of time to reply to every post I read though!

I was told to use BM in her eye... when I told the pedi about it, she looked at me like I was nuts and said "Well i just haven't ever heard of THAT!" and made a face.
