Pretty darn angry

So my doctor and the nurse told me on Thursday that when I get my blood drawn on Saturday I can call later for the results.

So yesterday the guy that draws my blood says I can't have my results til sometime this week because weekends aren't normal days.

I was like that's not what my doctor said....

So I call this morning just to see if my results are in... The nurse says, "Your results came in yesterday afternoon but Dr. Kim isn't in until Monday and she hasn't "acknowledged" the results yet so I can't give them to you."

By acknowledge they mean all the doctor has to do is look at the computer screen and click a button. Then the nurses are allowed to give the results.

So I ask if the doctor that is there can acknowledge the results because we just want to know if the baby is okay or not. We've been waiting since Wednesday. So she says she will ask him and call me back.

She calls back about 10 minutes later and says, "The doctor says he is busy and won't look at the results."

So I of course am frustrated and tell her... "Well obviously he's a man and doesn't know what it feels like to worry that you're losing the child inside of you." Then continue through tears, "I've been worrying since Wednesday if we are miscarrying or not again and all we want are the answers, good or bad. Even if it takes him a few hours to get time I can wait but I want to know today. Can you please ask him again?"

So it's silent for a bit and she says she will ask him and call me back.

I thanked her so much for even trying because I really do appreciate her efforts. It's not her fault he's being inconsiderate.

Now he better not be a total A** he doesn't even have to give me the results... but I'm a patient too and I am entitled to respect and the results that I paid for. How are you going to make a stressed out family stress for another day when you don't have to. Do you have no heart????????????!!!!!!

ugh... they did this to me too. Told me to call in... my doctor wasn't in, so they told me to call the next day.... Then she wasn't in the next day either!! The nurse got the doctor on call to look at them finally... but it's enough to drive you crazy! Hope you get some good news soon.

Nancy, I’m so sorry you have to go through all this and then to have a doctor that is such a complete and total inconsiderate JERK!! If I were you I would get a different doctor.

Im so sorry Nancy. If there is one thing ive learned through my losses its that about 99% of doctors dont have a heart. Im sorry that you are dealing with one of them and that you are going through this. HUGS to you! I hope you get some news soon.

I'm so sorry Nancy. I think the Drs. just don't realize the extra stress that they can cause patients by making them wait. I hope you can get the results today.

So sorry you are going through this. It is so horrible... I realize losses become "routine" in the day to day of working in medicine, but it is so sad that medical professionals lose sight of how precious each one of those babies are to their families' hearts. I hope you get your results very soon. You and your bean are in my T&Ps.

I am fuming for you right now!! I just don't understand why doctors have to act like they can do whatever they want for HOWEVER LONG they want. I mean, seriously, it will take 5 seconds to verify your results, come on people!! I really hope you get a call today! I know exactly how you feel. The past 3 weeks have been a waiting game for me. It is so frustrating. I hope everything is okay!

I'm so so sorry Nan, I can not believe that they would be so insensitive to you...please get a diffrent doctor, you do not in any way deserve to be treated in that way - ever!!

Sorry you didn't get your results. Sometimes it's hard for us to try to get others to understand that waiting is like torture. Hopefully the doctor will realize and call you with the results soon.

I am soo sorry! I totally know how you feel, when they said that my case was not priority at the ER. It is so hard, I hope that you get your results soon.
