How long did you ladies wait from the time you got your BFP on an HPT till you went to the doctor? I got my BFP on the 2nd and I am gonna try to get into and OB on Monday but I dk if I am going to be able to since I don't already have one. I am really nerovus to not get in. I dk whats healthy for me and baby. I also don't know what to expect on the first visit so anything you ladies can tell me would be very helpful. Also I have these red dots all over one of my boobs...does anyone know if its a pregnancy thing or if it could be something else? Lastly I knwo I have heard some of you, or some ladies on a differnt board talking about using evening primrose oil when TTC but I was prescribed it for a breast condition I have, does anyone know if I can keep taking now that I am pregnant or if I need to stop? I stoped for the time being but I was just wondering if any of you knew.

I was actually at my doc's office when I got my BFP so they took my blood right then and there. However it was too early and the test came back inconclusive so I had to go back the following week and that came back positive. But my first real appointment wasn't until, 9 weeks later. So you can definitely call and get your pregnancy confirmed through blood then they should set your appointment. As for the other things (red spots on bb's and evening primrose oil) I'm no help. Sorry!!! I hope someone else can help ya. Congrats on your BFP!!! H&H 9 months!

I just called my doctors office, told them I got a BFP on a HPT, and asked when they wanted to see me. The doctor saw me two days later and did all the tests and bloodwork then. Some ladies didn't get a first appointment until after 8 weeks or so. I think it is doctors preference for when they want you to come in.
Just call on Monday and see what they say. You should also ask about the primrose then and the office might be able to tell you.

Most Dr's won't set up an initial OB visit until you are 8-10 weeks along. (If not 12). But with that said, I would definately call and get yourself set up with a Dr, and I am sure they will be more than happy to answer your questions over the phone and decide if they need to see you sooner! If they won't answer your questions via a phone call, I would find a new doctor!

I got my bfp and the following day DH had an appointment for his ear, so we did a family trip!, she just referred me to the midwife in the next town, I was 5 weeks.
I´m not sure about the primrose oil either.

At my practice, you get to see a nurse for an intake appointment at 6 weeks along. Then at 8 weeks, you finally get to see a doctor. I never had any blood work or anything done before that. And that was with a high risk perinatologist! So it really does seem to vary from doctor to doctor.

I got my BFP on 3/28, went to the lab for a urine test on 3/30 & spoke with a nurse briefly, and my first OB appt when I was 11 weeks, 4 days on May 12.
Don't freak out if you don't see a doctor until 8 weeks or later, it seems pretty common from what I've read.

I was 8 weeks before I saw my nurse practitioner and that was standard (they said between 8-12 weeks). I made the appt the next business day after I got my BFP though. I didn't do any blood work until after I met with the NP either.

I got my BFP and my NP referred my to a midwife/OB's office. I called and told them I was a new patient... they sent me some paper work in the mail and set me up with an appt for I think 6 or 7 weeks. At that appt. the midwife basically asked me a ton of questions, did height and weight, urine sample and took lots of blood. The questions were about family history, my health and lifestyle. At the initial appt. the sent me home with a ton of information, magazines, etc.and had me come back around 8 weeks for a dating ultrasound (which is when we got to see the heartbeat for the first time!!)
As far as the red spots and the primrose oil- I'd just ask your dr. at that initial appt. I came with a long list of questions for her!
