Hey girls! Sorry I've been MIA. It was quite a weekend! Thursday night I started having some back pains throughout the night. I thought I just wasn't sleeping right.. but I was achey throughout the night and hardly slept. When I woke up Friday morning I knew there was no way I'd make it through work, so I went ahead and called in. I was exhausted from not sleeping and still uncomfortable with some back pain on the right side. As I napped and woke up and repeated that process throughout the day, the pain started to get increasingly worse. By 4:30 I knew I had to be seen. DH had to sleep, as he was working overnight so I didn't want him to get up and take me just in case it turned out to be nothing!
So- when MIL got off work, she took me over to the hospital. When I got to the ER (at this point the pain was pretty unbearable!) they sent me to L&D where they monitored me for several hours. Finally around 2am they did an ultrasound of my kidneys and gave me something for pain. I was finally able to get some rest! It turns out that my right kidney was enlarged and there were possible kidney stones. They pumped me FULL of fluids (literally, I gained 7 lbs while in the hospital). and admitted me. I did pass what appeared to be some "fragments or sediments" but nothing large. They released me around 2pm on Saturday and I rested the rest of the weekend. The midwife on call did say that I'd had a few contractions over the night and that the inside of my cervix was closed but the outside had opened up some. I was kind of in and out of it.. so I don't really know what she was saying... but she did say it was a result of the pain and not to worry.
So- I'm officially back and SOOOo glad to be feeling better!!

Erin, that really sucks! I'm so sorry you had to go through that, but at least now you know what it was and that your baby is still in there baking away!!! Get some much needed rest girl!!! Did they say what caused the kidney stones or do they not know? Just crazy how that happened! Glad you are feeling better and out of the hospital. I saw your comments on fb and wondered what was going on!
