Backstory:
For those who don't know/remember... My heart rate has been consistently pretty high since becoming pregnant (around 120/130). My blood pressure is always normal though. My midwife really had no clue why it's acting like that so she put in a referral to cardiology.
So.. that appt was today. I went in and had another EKG - once again it was completely normal (pulse was 122) - my oxygen levels were normal as well. We went in and talked to the Doctor who thinks that it's not really anything to be concerned about right now. He said I'm young and otherwise healthy and that he thinks that this is just the normal for me while pregnant.
He did put in an order for me to get my thyroid levels rechecked (I'm hypothyroid). My levels have been consistently perfect since going on medication though. I also have to go in next Monday to get an echo cardiogram just to make sure that there definitely is nothing wrong.
If both of those come back normal, then there really is no explanation and this will just be considered normal for me during pregnancy. They'll keep a closer eye on me, but that's about it. I feel perfectly fine, it's just annoying to have my heart race the majority of the time.

I'm glad you're getting it checked out and that it's probably nothing.
Can you feel your heart racing since it's been high for so long now? I could feel mine racing when I first got my terbutaline and it's only in the high 80's to 90's most of the time. I can feel it now when it goes over 100 and it feels like it's racing, but it's not usually that high and I'm used to the 80-90 range. I can't imagine it being in the 120 range.

Definitely weird, but as long as you are otherwise healthy, hopefully it shouldn't be a problem for you or baby.

Well I'm glad that everything seems to check out ok! You must be relieved! I'm glad that they'll be on top of it, but it seems like it's just another strange thing your body wants to do while your pregnant!

good to hear they are keeping an eye on you. Ive had a history of high BP so they have kept an extra eye on me even though its pretty much been fine. Nice to know that the extra care is there! Good luck with your ecg too.

So sorry you're having to deal with the racing pulse, but I'm glad it doesn't seem to be anything serious!

I'm glad things seem to be okay- even if a bit aggravating. I can't imagine my heart racing all the time... that would drive me crazy and probably scare me to death! Hang in there girly! I hope the subsequent tests come back normal as well!!
