My weekly u/s today went much better than last week's. I love the new doctor and am so glad I refused to see the other guy again. It scares me to think that they can deliver based on the kind of u/s I'm getting and he was so bad at it.
The girls are measuring about 4 lbs 6 oz each, but today's doc thinks that's off by about 3 oz too much. Both have their abdomen measuring at about 20% and their legs at about 95% They definitely did not get that from me. My sister's are both much taller than me and DH's sister is taller than him. Looks like the girls are going to take after all of them.
They were both practice breathing the whole time. Kicking each other in the head and basically misbehaving Better yet, I have managed to get B to flip to transverse. I don't know if she can manage to flip head down in the position she's in, but I may be able to bargain w/ my doctor about a vaginal birth since she isn't breech.
My cervix looks great, so I may make it to my goal of 36 weeks unless my water breaks before then. My BP is still great and my blood sugars are remaining low.
Today's doctor looked at everything and completely disagrees w/ last week's doc about them not being identical. She looked at the placenta and cord inserts for a long time. She said that in her opinion, if they had separated one day later, they would be sharing a gestational sac and she can't imagine why he thought they weren't identical.

Good to see you getting good news after the past few appointments. It sounds like they are going to be tall, thin little girls. Your new Dr sounds on the ball, and I hope baby B cooperates and goes head down for you.

We have names, but we aren't telling anyone until they are born.
Some random lady at a store begged me to tell her the other day. The first person we tell will not be some random lady at a store.
The first names were incredibly easy for us. We'd had a conversation probably 8 years ago about what we'd name identical twin girls. So random since we never discussed names. One of the names we are using is one of those. The other one we aren't is Isabelle. I still love that name, but it's become to common for us to use. No one was using that 8 years ago.
Middle names took us a lot longer since we wanted them to be family names. We're both really happy with what we finally decided on.
Everyone will get to find out soon.

Sounds like a great, uneventful appointment, which are certainly the best! I think it is just thrilling that they are identical. Of course, even better is that they are healthy. I'm glad the doctor was a better match.

That sounds like a great appt! I'm so glad that this Dr was so much better than the last! I am dying to find out the names you chose, but I'll be patient as your little ladies need to stay put for a while longer!

fantastic appointment! how exciting would it be if you found out at birth that they were, in fact, identical??? I think it would be so amazing to have identical twins - you'd know your child always had a best friend and would never be alone.
As for vaginal birth, continue to fight for it. I know it is rare these days, but it didn't used to be! When I first met my Doula two nights ago, she was talking about birth stories and said she's been there to oversee delivery of several sets of twins vaginally, all healthy. Her big thing was that it is nearly impossible for them to both be head down, because there just isn't room, but if at least ONE of them is, often as it is born the other will flip into the correct position. Good luck!!!
