There has been change to the TTC #1 grad hideaway.

Quote:
TTC #1 Graduates Hideaway
To receive the password for this subforum you must either be an active grads who has reached their 2nd trimester and have 200 posts in grad section or an active non-grad who has been active for minimum of 2 months in grad section and have 200 posts in grad section. Please PM the hosts for the password.
I am very strict with giving out the new password. Please follow the requirement before PM'ing me. I will check the post # under your name if I do not know if you have been active & have reached more than 200 posts in this board. It's a lot of time consuming to go through your posts before I give out password.
2nd trimester means starting at 14 weeks pregnant.

PM me to get the new password. I appreciate your patience!

Erika you have 319 posts in this forum - you go to advanced search - then search by user name - then pick which forum you want to search in.

where do you find advanced search?

I find this frustrating. I don't know who's decision it is to put these specifications, but I can't post things about my pregnancy in the TTC #1 hideaway, and I can't do it in this hideaway for four more weeks. I understand the need to be discrete, however, those of us that are in limbo, what are we to do? We have things that we don't want expressed to the entire world as well!!

While I understand your frustration, Marci, the new requirements were discussed and voted for in the hideaway a few weeks ago. We're using the first trimester as a time to get to know you better and I don't think that's asking too much. I understand having personal things you may want to share privately and you can still do so via PM with someone until you have access. This does not need to turn into a debate, we just want our privacy respected, as you would if you were in our shoes.

I wasn't trying to turn it into a debate, but at the same time, should still have the right to express my feelings. Thanks for listening.

I do think the frist tri thing is a but much (and it should actually be 13 weeks) but then again I didn't know about a poll so I guess my vote doesn't count. I understand for someone who maybe came on to TTC #1 and got pg right away but for the girls who have been active members of the main board still having to wait 13 weeks seems a bit much to me. JMO!

I did vote on this... but to be honest, I don't remember what I voted! And now I can't get into the grads to check ! But I totally see where you're coming from Marci! I can understand your frustration. I also see how it's hard for Aaron to determine who's active, etc. and protect the privacy of the other members from those who may not be active. I suppose at the end of the day, you can't make everyone happy But please please please feel free to PM me if you EVER need to talk!!!

I can totally understand the need for privacy. I wouldn't want people that aren't active members to just be able to gain access. 200 posts isn't really alot of posts once you think about it. The second trimester rule I don't really agree with though because there is always alot of personal issues that come up in the 1st trimester that people don't feel comfortable posting in the main forum.

I only have 160 posts in this section.

yikes...
I'm kinda with Marci on this...we are in hideaway limbo at a time when we are probably the most fragile (scared of miscarriage, adjusting to being pregnant)...cant post in TTC#1 Hideaway, can't post in TTC#1Grads hideaway...

Wish that those that have been on JM for a long time (I very much doubt that ANYONE on here would think that Marci or I are anything but what JM is all about) would get some sort of consideration for being around for so long...

What about those that have 200+ posts in TTC#1Grads - but then get PG, do they not get to access hideaway again until they are in week 14??

And, no, please dont jump on me for trying to start a debate - I'm not...just voicing an opinion...

No, it says in the requirements that you have to be active for 2 months with 200 posts OR pregnant and in your 2nd trimester (approximately 2 months after getting your BFP).

There are lots of girls who are wary of posting pictures or sensitive things to people they don't know. I understand that you have been active on other boards, but there are lots of us here on the grads board who don't know you very well at all. Of course, I'm not just talking about you and Marci but new grads in general.

There are requirements for DDC hideaways too. Some people who are on those boards have over 20,000 posts. But they are new to the DDC and have to meet the requirements before gaining access.

I don't know... there has to be a cut off somewhere. I don't think being active on a board for 2 months (you're already 4 or 5 weeks along when you get your BFP) is that long.

Hope I didn't upset anyone. Just wanted to voice my opinion and explain what some of us were thinking when we suggested the guidelines.

Lauren-
You were more than nice...thanks...

I guess its more confusion for me...

my confusion starts with the not-pg and 200 post in 2 months...

I mean, I've posted in the grads section when Erin got her BFP - cause I love Erin and was thrilled for her...and that was more than two months ago...but, I didn't post often (cause it was a bit depressing that I wasnt a grad)...but, since becoming a grad, I've posted a lot more here - cause ya know - not so depressing any more...

So, since I'm pg now, even if I get 200 posts, and its been way more than 2 months since I started posting in the grads - would I still not get hideaway access - because I'm PG (but not to 14 weeks)?? Also, I'm a journal-a-holic (check out my TTC#1 journal - I'm obsessed)...does that still count as posting in the grads section??

Could someone just clear it up for me?

Again, I'm not trying to be mean or a jerk or anything and dont want to upset anybody, just wanted to clear it up...

I don't want this to sound rude so please don't take this the wrong way, but I'm here several times a day and I have no idea who you are. I mean, I've seen your username, but I don't "know" you, if you know what I mean. You said yourself you posted a time or two before you got pregnant but weren't active here because it was depressing, which is totally fine, so not active = no access. A non-grad like Erika (em2528) for example, who has been active in the grads section for well over 2 months and meets the post count requirement is given access per the new guidelines.

"So, since I'm pg now, even if I get 200 posts, and its been way more than 2 months since I started posting in the grads - would I still not get hideaway access - because I'm PG (but not to 14 weeks)??"
OK, I'm going to try to get my thoughts into words on this one. You stopped in here and there over the last few months (looks like you posted once in feb and not again until april, here and there after that until you got your BFP) but you were not "active" in the grads section for 2 months in a row. Does that make sense? You should get access to the private sub-forum once you've reached your second trimester and adhere to the rest of the requirements.

The non-grad specification was put in because there is a handful of members who have been very active in here for as long as some of us oldies but are not grads at the moment and we felt the best way to grant them access was to include them in the guidelines instead of "secretly" having them in there.

As for the journals, IMO, I don't think they should count, but that's just how I feel about it. Only because not everyone has time to read the journals (like me) so if you were to post a zillion times in your journal and hardly ever on the main grads forum and then were granted access to the hideaway because you reached the post count, I'd have no idea who you are and think twice about posting something in the hideaway. Does that make sense? I'm sorry, I'm frazzled right now.
