We told our families

Yes its early, but we wanted to be able to share this with our families. We are very close to both sides so this was really exciting!

First we saw DH's family. We had my niece's 4th birthday party yesterday so we went back to BIL's house with everyone to finish opening gifts. Normally we wouldnt' have gone but we wanted to tell them and didn't want to do it with everyone from teh b-day party there. So we waited for my niece to finish her present and I told her I had one more for her and she had to open it with her mom (my SIL who is the person who has been MOST excited about us getting pregnant when it happened.) So my Sil gets the little bag which had a cbe digi inside with a bow on it... my niece is standing there watching. My SIL looks at it, and I asked her if she see what it says, then she freaked out. I guess the bow was covering the test window, so she just thought it was a marker until she saw the name of the test. She started crying and my in-laws said, OH, does that mean we're goign to be grandparents again?! Everyone was very excited. I do feel bad b/c my Dh's step sister and DH have been trying for almost 2 years and she is having bad fertility problems so i did feel bad but i didn't know a better way to do it keeping their sensitivity in mind. Anyway they were really nice about it, but i still feel bad.

Then we went to my parent's for dinner with them before my sister leaves for college again and my parents go to florida for a week. So we have dinner and they keep offering me beer and wine, and i'm like no, trying to cut back and lose some weight. haha. So we eat dinner and I suggested they open their gifts before we eat dessert. So I had wrapped a gift for each and had them open them together. You'll see the pictures below and understand what they got. Well my mom and dad were both so confused. My mom was like, what is this? I said its mine, and she goes, "For real??" Yes, for real! So then she just flipped and my sister goes, So you're pregnant?? And then my dad finally got it. He was super confused, but he got the biggest smile! He is gonna be such a great grampa! So overall it went great. My brother already knew so he just sat there and laughed and pretended not to know. He claims to have predicted that we'd get pregnant within our first year of marriage...i don't remember that but if he did he was right. We've been married for almost 9 months!!

We called MIL and told her too, and she was really happy. So everyone knows now, and we can go on. I am still very cautious but I am less anxious knowing they all know and its out. I am a horrible secret keeper!

that was such a cute way to tell everyone

we also told everyone within 2 days of finding out...we just figured that no matter what happens, we wanted to experience the JOY of being pregnant, instead of just focusing on the worry...

and Kate, you are almost 5 weeks - already, YEAH!!!

Tonya, I know!!! I can't wait to get through this first week and then get to 6. My first appt is at 5 wk 6 days with the NP. Hopefully i'll get a fairly early u/s. There's not a reason for me to worry right now but i do just the same. I am trying to keep my mind at ease!

Thanks Kim, i did put a lot of thought into it. Its my family's first baby and my Dh's second, but like I said, my niece is turning 4. It will be fun to have a new baby!!

cute! i waited til i was 9 weeks to tell anyone. i wanted to wait til i was out of my 1st trimester but couldnt.

I have told more people than I thought I would at this stage too but I still am not telling a lot of people until next month towards the end of the month.
