Hi Ladies!
Called to get my HCG level from my first draw at 5w5d and it was 30,885. At first I thought that sounded great until I got to reading about molar pregnancies and high HCG can indicate down syndrome and such. I would fall perfectly into range for 6 weeks (is 5w5d considered close enough?). My doctor had no concerns at all and said it looked good. But my gosh, everything about pregnancy stresses me out!!!!

Update:
You know, I just got thinking - the nurse said it as "thirty eight eighty five" and since I was writing the numbers down and not listening it could have been 3,885 instead of 30(thirty),885 - if that makes sense. And if so, I just spent a whole day thinking that my pregnancy is molar!! I feel to silly to call back and double check. Thanks for everyone's input though!

Try to relax and listen to your doctor! We pay them for a reason and if he/she was worried, trust me--they would tell you. Try to take deep breaths and one day at a time.

I agree. If your doctor thinks it's okay then I wouldn't be stressing over it. I know it's hard not to stress though.

If your Dr thinks the numbers are ok then I wouldn't worry. AND STOP GOOGLING!!!! I did that a ton, and it just stressed me out! Step away from the computer.

You could have your dates off by one or two days, and that would make a huge difference in your HCG numbers.

Just try and relax and enjoy your pregnancy. (((HUGS)))

I third that, step away from Google! It is not your friend while you are pregnant. If your Dr. says you are ok I would listen to them!

Maybe it would rest your mind if you ask the doctor but I think you are just dandy fine.

Stay away from search engines. Easier said than done. right?

It's not the sinle # you need to look at, but the fact that they are doubling properly. My betas were really low (but were still doubling) and I was freaking out (google was my worst nightmare) A higher level CAN mean multiples!!! Maybe you have 2 in there??
