Has anyone had one after having their baby??
I had my 1st one today and OMG, I could barely stay on the chair/table thing, it was so painful. She said I had a breastfeeding cervix (very difficult to get pg again due to the angle) so she had to push on my stomach to get the tube thing in. I had to take ibruprofen afterwards! it still hurts a bit now. Man, it was less painful having Ana!!
Before being pg they never hurt, I hardly noticed it. More things they neglect to tell you!!
Has this happened to anyone else??

I had mine at 8 weeks PP and it didn't hurt. I would say it was a bit more tender than before having Elliott, but nothing like you are describing, Sam. I'm sorry yours was so uncomfy!

Well at my 6 weeks pp appointment I had a pelvic exam but I don't think it was an actual papsmear. She did have to feel my uterus though...didn't feel great, but not the pain like you are describing. Did you tell your doc how painful it was? Is that normal?

I may have mentionned the pain thing a couple of times!! , she said that in some women bfing hormones affect the angle of the cervix and make it harder to take the sample. She did a pelvic exam first to see if everything was back in its place, and that didnt hurt.

Mine was a little bit painful, but not like that. It was 6 weeks PP. I'm sorry it was so bad for you. That really stinks! Thank goodness you won't have to have another for a while, though.

I don't have to have an actual pap until Nov. but she did do the exam and it did hurt a bit more than normal, but it wasn't too bad.
