Maybe you ladies saw this thread on the main TTC #1 board, but I wanted to point it out b/c I am the only freak that thinks its cute! Maybe other moms do to? Tell me I am not alone in freak land, or gasp in horror like all the "normal" people, LOL

lol i DID see that actually. In some ways I think, hmm but then i think well why not, why cant girls grow up thinking its normal to feed their dollys that way. I remember when I was young you could often buy bottles with dolls. Does that mean kids should grow up thinking thats the only way to feed babies?? I remember my mum saying I used to pretend to breastfeed my dolls.lol I was breastfed so maybe thats why. Not sure how you would market a toy that advocates breastfeeding though, very tricky but I see the point in it. I havent actually seen a piccy though, maybe my mind would be changed.

Yeah, that is definitely a tricky one. Having little girls grow up thinking babies should be fed by bottles is sorta sad, but at the same time, it is weird to have a baby doll that actually makes suckling sounds at a child's nipple!! I think it would creep me out as a parent, and I recognize that's probably cultural bias...but it is what it is.

I don't see anything wrong with it. I think it is cute and little girls have been feeding their baby dolls with bottles for ages so why not pretend to BF when they see that is what mommy is doing? I bet it sells great in Europe becuase they aren't as closed minded as we are here!

Totally agree with you April! I don't see anything wrong with it! It's cute and smart! Easy way for girls to understand breastfeeding and not be grossed out by it (I know some ladies are, hence why they won't BF, my sis being one)

We were always making comments when we were there this summer about how they view somethings so differently than us. Much more relaxed!

I´ve seen this!, its funded by the european union health department with the idea of encouraging breast feeding. They are also thinking of loaning them to big sister (and brothers I suppose?) when a new baby is born so they realise what mummy is doing and give her time to feed new baby. Compared to a baby that poos and even one that gets a suntan in the sun, I think its a good idea. I used to breast feed my dolls (and the teddies!).

I think it's cute! I would get one for Cherie. That thread got me mad. Someone compared it to dolls that have sex! Um, eating in public is acceptable, sex is not! I had to stop reading after that comment.
