Just got back from my genetic counceling and my level 2 ultrasound.
We are having a baby BOY!!
The pictures were really clear and there was no mistaking it When the tech said we were having a boy DH started crying and didn't stop for the rest of the ultrasound. It was really cute. The tech was passing him kleenex.
We haven't had a boy on my side of the family for 2 generations so everyone is really excited. I am going to do a jungle animal theme in the nursery and am excited to start painting the room.
I do have a mild plecenta previa at the moment which is where the placenta is lying a little ways oveer the cervix. The doctor told me that it will probably clear up on it's own and the uterus streches. But, we have to go back for another ultrasound at 28 weeks. I can't complain because it will be great to see our baby again. If it's not cleared up beofre the baby is due then we will be having a c-section.

Congrats on your boy!! What a sweet reaction by your DH Do you guys have any names picked out??
I don't have placenta previa, but my placenta was also shown to be lying very close to my cervix at my 20 week u/s and I will be getting another u/s at 32 weeks to see if it has moved. My doctor also said that in 95% of cases, the placenta moves upwards...so hopefully that's the case for you too!

YAY!!! Welcome to team blue!!!! My placenta is doing the same thing, and it seems pretty common in our DDC. I'll be crossing my fingers that ALL of our placentas move where they need to!! BTW, I love the jungle theme idea!

We don't have names picked out quite yet, although we are playing with several ideas.
I asked DH if he would have cried as much if it was a girl. He said it wasn't that he wanted a boy, it was more that now he could invision himself holding the baby and it felt so much more real to him. It was very sweet. I'm wondering how he's going to hold up after the delivery

Congrats on a baby boy! That is so sweet about your DH at the u/s! I know the u/s helped it feel more "real" for my DH, he was giddy while watching that screen. Too cute.
