Hi everyone, first thanks Clare for updating everyone for me and thanks everyone for all your wll wishes.
Quick word of warning this will be looong.

OK well last week Wednesday i had my midwife appointment as usual, my bp was up so she said she would send someone out the next day to check it, if it was stil a concern thres a possibility they will send me to hospital to check it out there, I had had 2 membrane sweeps at this point and no signs of labour, she gave me an information leaflet on induction as i said i thought I would end up at that point.

Thursday another midwife came to check my bp and it was still high so she sent me to the day assessment cente at the hospital, basically they would put on monitors, check urine etc and decide wether to send me home or not. DF met me from work so went to the hospital, was put on the monitor to see ow the little monkey was doing. bp checked again found a trace of protien in my urine. The monitor was a dodgy one so after about 40 mins we changed to a different one, within 10 mins on the knew one all was fine, then the lady there said oh i think we will admit you because of yor blood pressure. We were thinking it was just for the night for observation.

we went and had some lunch while the found me a bed which took them about an hr and a half, they were sooo busy. were given a bed and werent really sure what to do from there. no one came to see me for 3 hours we kept asking wat was happenning. by the time 9pm came, partners were meant to leave so DF wentto the reception and said if they didnt let us know what was goin on he was taking me home because we had been there for 7 hours by that point and I had my bp checked once only. When I finall actually saw a doctor it was 10.30pm, she was soo apologetic. she put me on pills for my bp and then it was checked every hr. No sleep that nite.

saw a diferent dr Fri morning who made the decision to induce me while my bp was under control, rather than wait till it went up. there was a waiting list of 12 women already waiting and its done in order of critical priority. Was taken down to L&D midnight Fri/Sat and given a prostin tablet to soften my cervix, I was told I was dialted enough to have my waters broken but they would give the tablet and let that work. you need a minimum of 8 hours for it to work. was checked 12 hours later, no progress, they inserted another one. 15 hours later no progress so they intserted a gel which is then stronger. I started having contrax every 6 mins basically straight away. 6 hours later they saw me again. The gel had completley effaced me but cervx was stil quite prosterior, managed to break my waters. They gave me 4 hours to move about and get contrax stronger. Nope didnt work. So they started a sintocin drip. the problem with that is you have to be hooked up to machines so i couldnt move about through contractions. At first they couldnt get a vain for my drip after trying both arms so 2 hours later an anethatist came and did it. got that in, started syntocin, i had a total of 15hours of contrax with no pain relief. I then started using gas an air as they were getting intense, within a couple of hours they were bad I was wriggling all over thebed in pain, i made DF cry. They did an internal check and I had made 1 cm progress which really wasnt good enough. I askd for an epi then they continued the sintocin, i was so exhausted and out of it, I woke up and they were talking about her heart decelerating etc. Not by much but the m/w was concerned. the doctor looked at the monitr said all was fine and they were going to continue, he did an internal after another 3 hours and I had made no progress so they declared it a failed induction and decided on csection also because bella was starting to get distressed (she werent the only one) by this time me and DF was so exhausted and crying. they took us through quite quickly and before we knew it Bella was here. Such a relief but Im soo upset disapointed thats how it tuned out. My body just didnt labour or progress. Every time i think about havin the section it makes me want to cry, which I know is silly because i know some of you didnt even get a choice, Val, Lauren S etc. I know everyone says shes here and healthy which is great but I feel truly traumatised by the whole experience! have recovered well as they let me home the next day (last night) but theres a long way more to go to full recovery.
anyway sorry its so long, will try catch up with posts inbetween bfeedings!

Aw, I'm sorry that was such a rough and traumatic experience. But I will say, Bella is absolutely gorgeous (these pics and the one on FB). You and DF look so happy in your last picture.

OH I'm soooo sorry you had such a rough experience, but I totally understand how you feel. I felt the same way for about 2 weeks. Everytime I told the story of how Paige arrived I would cry. It does get better and with time you will accept things. Sometimes it's just completely out of yours hands. I know that doesn't make it any easier right now, but you do have a beautiful little girl on your hands now!!! She is absolutely adorable!!! Can't wait to watch her grow! How's breastfeeding going?
