We are home! PIC HEAVY!!!!

We are finally home! Actually the last 3 days have flown by and I can hardly remember when one day ends and one day begins! I had to keep asking DH today what day it was and how many nights we were at the hospital! We are home though and starting to feel like this is real! I have had one moment this evening where I broke down and cried because I just want her to be ok. It just hit me that now that we are home it is me that is the one that has to decide if she is ok and not have a nurse tell me she is. She has been labeled as a lazy feeder. She isn't latching on very well because she just won't wake up. We are supplementing with formula...and I cried about that at first but I am ok with it now. We are only giving 10 ml per feeding and only after she tries to latch for at least 10 min on each side and then I pump...so each feeding takes like an hour! DH has been doing the bottle though and it is a special lactation bottle so that it is more like the nipple sheild we are using and she doesn't seem to have any confusion so far because they are so similar. She just doesn't want to wake up to do it but when she has the bottle she sucks it down in no time so we are thinking that when my milk comes in and there is actually something there she will take it much easier. We are hoping tomorrow it will come in.

SO besides the feeding issue which is frustrating for me but I am trying not to let it get to me so she won't sense it, we are doing great. She is amazing and I can't get enough of her! Right now as I am typing we are doing skin to skin...she is so cuddly!

OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG she is just so beautiful, im balling like a big baby right now. What a little sweetie. You guys are just glowing. You look so calm and in control in labor, just amazing, and the looks on your faces right after she was born is just priceless, there is so much love in your eyes. Im sorry the feeding situation is a little frustrating right now, but im sure it will start getting better and she will get the hang of things, just keep at it. CONGRATS again, Haylea is beautiful and im just beyond happy for you and Brian that you have your beautiful little miracle. God Bless you guys. Ly so much! HUGS

She is so beautiful! I love all those pictures! You look fantastic!

BTW... I found that Kerrigan ate ALOT better when I fed her skin to skin in the hospital.... otherwise she would only eat for 5 min. at a time. After a few times doing that she seemed to get the hang of it. Not too mention they sleep ALOT the first couple of days and then they seem to wake up a little more for their feedings.

I am so happy for you guys!

I saw these on facebook and she is just adorable!!!!! I think she looks like you!! I'm so sorry the feedings aren't going well. I completely understand how frustrating it is. Try to hang on as long as you can but don't worry if you can't. YOu have to do what is right for you AND her! Stay strong momma!! Has it set in that you are a momma yet???
