The girls started cluster feeding yesterday at 11:00 am. I pretty much sat on the couch from then until 8:30 pm. I got a few short breaks to go to the bathroom, eat etc. I was alone for a bunch of the hours, so was pretty much stuck. I got about an hour break at the end of it and thought they were done. No such luck. The little ladies decided to not stop until we finally pumped them full of pumped milk at about 3:00 am and let them sleep in bed with us. I'm really hoping that's the last cluster feed for at least a few days. They are lucky their faces are so stinkin' cute because when I wanted to cry all I had to do was look at those goofy feeding grins and it made everything so much better.

Oh wow...those girls are really going to wear you out, huh? I'm glad at least that they are both HAPPY feeders and not whiney or irritable about it. And though it will be really rough for awhile, it is SUCH a great sign that they are both taking to BFing so well and eager to feed and grow! Horray for healthy and thriving twins!!

So glad you have such cute twins! It sounds like you are doing a great job and hanging in there very well. I'm sorry that you got stuck like that for so long, but I am glad your twins are growing and thriving.

I remember the beginning being just as you described. I can't imagine doing double duty though. It makes it really difficult to eat and go to the bathroom. Make sure you ARE eating and drinking properly though.... it takes a pretty big toll on you if you're not.

Wow, Valerie. It's a good think you are such a patient person. . .I would have been a crying heap. Heck, I was a crying heap, and that was with only one to feed! You are a good mama. I can't wait to see more pictures of your little angels. . . if they stop feeding long enough for you to load them!

Last night was much better. I even got one 2 hour stretch of sleep. It's good to know other people have been a bit frustrated as well.

Omg Cel! I feel so sorry for you right now! I remember when 2 hours felt like a lot! lol. The first month you feel like you constantly have a baby latched on, but it does get better. (My nipples hurt just thinking about it!) If you feel like crying it's okay...I cried the first 3 months. lol. I would cry because I was tired...because I was happy...because I was scared....AHHH hormones!! lol. I bet those little faces are adorable to look at, and the great news is that it only gets better!!

I really only cried once and it was pretty funny. My sister was here the other day after I only had a few hours of sleep in 10-15 minute increments. I was so flippin' exhausted and was telling her about it. I started to cry, but then I was cracking up at the same time. I am tired, but I've had other times in my life that I've been more tired than this for a much longer period of time. I figure it could be worse. Neither girl is colicky so far. They cry, but not in a ridiculous amount. My nipples are doing okay. They were more sore from pumping in the hospital to get my milk to come in. Both girls have a decent latch most of the time. Tandem nursing, when they let me put them on the same schedule, is saving me a ton of time. I don't know what I'd do without my twin nursing pillow. Best investment so far!
