So I had my Peri appt today and I guess I got good and bad news. The good news the babies look good as per the doctor. The bad news and just wondering if you ladies know anything if I should worry, I had to do a cervical lenght check and 2 weeks ago, my cervix length was at 5.65cm and today it was at 3.53cm. Now I think that was a pretty big jump in just 2 weeks! My doctor seemed concerned but not too concerend at the same time. But he did tell me that he wants to see me now instead of every 2 weeks every week now. So I dont know if he is just being overly cautious or just thinks it might lead to a problem.

Also I had my first contractions! which im not too happy about. He confirmed to me that it was a contraction, so another thing to worry about now.

Anyways if any of you know about cervical length please let me know.

hmmm, is he concerned that you'll go into early labor as your cervix thins? I know this can be a problem with twins, but I'm sure there is plenty they can do to slow the process. I wouldn't worry too much about it just yet.

The measurement can really be affected by who is doing the measuring. I had one woman who was a newer stenographer that measured mine really short, someone else measured it and saw that she was wrong. That being said, you may want to look at reducing your activity level if you haven't already. I had to stop working out at 24w due to funneling and a shortened cervix. I was only allowed to walk after that. Your length is still good, so no need to be too concerned yet. Your cervix can also get longer again.

I had some contractions while at the doc office and my doc sent me to L&D to be checked. They came down to the conclusion that although there wasnt a significant change in my cervix that if it is thinning and if I am having contractions that I need to drink lots more water and stay off my feet. I am officially on modified bedrest right now which basically means if I am awake 16 hours a day 12 of those hours must by lying down(not sitting down) with my feet up. So on your next appt. maybe talk to them about putting you on bedrest. Anything you can do to keep those little babies in as long as possible.
