ok so im ready for my girl to make her appearance. im trying to think of ways to induce labor. naturally of course...here is what i can think of..

1. sex
2. walking
3. castor oil (WILL NOT do)
4. nipple stimulation

i know there is more..help me out ladies!

I was reading in What to Expect that there's pressure points in your ankle area that can bring on contractions. It says to avoid it during massage etc when you are pregnant - but says that later (like now for you!) it may help bring on the contractions!

Has anyone else heard about this?

Yeah, I've heard the whole washing the floor on all fours thing too! I think walking helped me for sure! GL girl!!!

google that egg plant recipe, for eggplant parmasen. It comes from a restuarant that has a reputation for pregnant going into labour 48 hours after eating it!!

I refused to do the castor oil too. Apparently with the eggplant recipe, itsthe basil and oregano that has properties that are meant to help things along, so I covered all my food in chilli, basil and oregano, didn work for me though.

Liss Ive heard about the massage points too, theres one in your hand apparently.
Erica theres also taking EPO (evening primrose oil) which is meant to help soften your cervix, nipple stimulation, meant to mimic a baby suck is hard when ying,whichouve got no idea what breastfeeding feels like.

Be careful doing it this early though. startedto small thingswhen I was 37 weeks and built up. In some ways Im glad it didnt work and I was 11 days over and Bella was 6'7, i expected her to be bigger. if self induction HAD worked early on she may had been alot smaller.

Drinking certain types of tea was also another one I've head of.

washing the floor, or scrubbing the other side of the bath tub, leaning across the bath whilst on your knees.

I did this and then cut the grass with garden shears and broke waters the next day. I also read about pineapple, but I never got to try it, I had it in the frisge for lunch, but went before!!

First I want to say- Don't feel bad for considering this! Obviously, you don't want her to come too early, but I'm only 30 weeks and wish I could get him out! OF COURSE I want him to wait a while longer and be big and strong and healthy- but I get where you're coming from!!

Walking and sex is always what I've heard too! Good luck. It won't be long before your little girl will be making her grand debut

She'll come when she's ready But I know you probably want here out. Believe me I know how it is. DS was 12 days past due and I was MORE than ready to have him. I didn't try any nautral inducing methods until I was 40 weeks. Believe me I tried them ALL and none of them really worked....nothing put me into labor until he was 12 days over due.

I tried:
the eggplant parmesan
pineapple- tons of it
red raspberry leaf tea
Evening primrose oil
nipple stimulation
sex
tons and tons of walking
bumpy car ride
castor oil (is the worst stuff ever!!!! I was up all night in the bathroom)
cohosh
jumping jacks
bouncing on yoga ball
jumping on the bed
acupressure points
swinging on a swing
walking through sand at the beach
curb walking- one on the curb one leg on the ground
walking uphills
eating spicy curry
eating sushi (many friends went into labor doing this)
balasmaic dressing on salad

I went into labor an hour after labor inducing acupuncture and I had hot buffalo wings for dinner.
Also, I had my membranes sweeped and streched at 41 weeks. He was born 5 days later.
I can't imagine having him early because he would have been small and not ready. I'm thankful he stayed put until he was ready to celebrate his birthday. He picked the perfect one and he was healthy and perfect, no issues whatsoever, he scored 9 on his apgars.

I tried alot of the same things that Linds tried... and still ended up 10 days over. Even with eating the eggplant twice.

I tried just about everything! I think it was mainly to pass the time. My little one was 5 days late and came all on her own.

I can't say that DH and I didn't have fun trying all of the wives tales though. We really enjoyed it.

well we wont actually be trying to get her out till im close to 39 weeks. but im trying to think of things to do for when the time comes.....

we may just stick with lots of dtd and let nature take its course and hope that dtd helps...o and of course housework.

I had been drinking about 7 cups of red raspberry tea a day, taking cohosh, inserting EPO capsuls and taking them orally. I went into labour the day after a little hanky panky. Make sure you lay there a while after...its the semen that can help get things going! It needs to stay in there a while.
