Hi Ladies,
I am just now trying to organize the nursery with all of Mari's gifts, clothes, toys, etc...

My question is what size clothing did you keep in the baby's room and what stuff did you put away in boxes/storage/basement?? I'm thinking I will be safe by keeping stuff up to 9months in her room and everything else can be stored until she needs it, but maybe I need to keep stuff up to 12 months??

What has worked for you??

Um, that was tough. I kept newborn, 0-3 months, 3-6 months clothes out. I didn't wash all of them right away. Just some at first then when she started to grow into more things I would wash more. I pretty much but everything else away until she will need it. You just never know how small or big she will be. GL..you are so close now!! How's bedrest going for ya?

Well, Tori is just now into 6-9 months although she is almost 11 months old. So, I don't think that I would keep anything out beyond 6 months. Then, again, it is hard to tell how big Mari will be and how fast she will grow/gain weight.

I kept out newborn and 0-3 months. We're at 3.5 months now and Amelia still fits into the 0-3 month clothes. She fits into some 3-6 now, but some are still a little big. I put away everything else.

After going through her clothes this morning, I realize that she had sooo much stuff, especially in the 3 to 9 months range, so I am going to keep out stuff around the 3 to 6M range if I can...there is just too much stuff to put in the drawers and closets.

Medical Leave has been quite uneventful and boring really...which I suppose is the point. I'm trying very hard not to do over exert myself, besides sitting on the nursery floor this morning and sorting through clothes.

Yesterday I had a BP check and my BP was down! Still in the high range, but much better than it has been in weeks so I can hold off on BP medication for now! I have another ultrasound and prenatal exam on Friday to see if Mari is continuing to grow. Hopefully, BP will still be down and she'll be thriving!!

We only have 2 seasons here, roasting and freezing, so more than sizes I have done it by warm or cool clothes. As well the sizings can be way off (found this the hard way) and some NB can fit until 5 months! (I only put some summer tops away last week) and some things IŽve got out size 3-6 months when she was 3 months and they never fit.

I made a pile of all tops, all trousers, all jumpers etc and organised them by actual size not label sizes (youŽll be surprised later when you look at the labels). That way the smallest things are on top and you wont miss anything.

I had tiny baby and NB in her dresser and the next sizes in her bottom dresser drawer. Now shes 5.5 months and mainly in 0-3 months (european sizes!!) and some 3-6 and even 6-9.

I wrote you a novel!!, still, if youŽre on bedrest itŽll give you something to read!!

So close now, enjoy the rest!!

We kept up to 3 months out at first and kept the 3-6 in a bin. Now we have the 36 out and everything else in a bin. He has WAY too many clothes so we can only keep one size out at once!

I put everything up to 3 months in the boys' room and then all other clothes were sorted by size and placed in bins in my garage. When they started growing out of the preemie-3mo stuff I would stick it in a bin and unpack the next bin in their room. This really worked for me. I plan to do it like this next time!

I had all of the newborn and 0-3 in one drawer, 3-6 in another, and 6-9 in another. Anything above that was/is packed away. Granted, all the of drawers were JAMMED full. Lily just outgrew her newborn clothes and is now in 0-3 and 3 month clothes.

One note of advice...don't go by the sizes on the clothes. Different brands run different. I have some 3-6 month clothes that Lily just about fits in now because they run so small!

Basically Elliott's clothes were organized the same way Andrea did Lily's. We have basically zero closet room for Elliott because our house is so small, so I had to be creative. I have a portable bin set that holds all the shoes, socks, hats, burp cloths, swaddles and bibs. Then in the drawers, I have them JAMMED full of clothes. The top for newborn, the next for birth-3mo, etc. As he has out grown sizes, I have packed the small size away, so that now we have the bigger clothes in the bottom two drawers and current sizes in the top 3 drawers. HTH.

Hey...OMG I can't believe how close you are! I'm so out of the loop here! lol How is everything going? I read you're on bedrest?

I'll just say that every baby is different. Camryn is almost 4 months and she's wearing 6 months at the moment. I think it also depends on whether or not you're using cloth diapers. Cloth is a little more bulky than disposables, so they make bottoms and onsies/ sleepers fit a little smaller. I would keep out newborn to 6 months. It all depends on when you want to start sorting. I kept all of her 3-6 months stuff at the back of her drawers, and all the newborn to 3 months at the front. Then as she out grew things, I packed them away. Its been working for me. I just stack a bin of her bigger clothes and a bin that I put clothes that are too small in her closet. That way all her clothes are close by.

Hi Shanna! I am on a "modified" rest routine...45 minutes of every hour need to be spent either lying down or sitting with with my feet up...the doc says I can walk around for 15 minutes or so within that hour...so at least I'm very lucky in that I can still get things done here and there....

This has been due to high blood pressure issues...I think she's right though, my major stress was from work related issues and now that that's been eliminated, the BP seems to have gone down some...

My immediate goal is to get baby girl to 35 weeks (only one more week to go!), otherwise she can come anytime after she's full term at 37 weeks (which would be funny since she will be officially 37 weeks the day after DH's birthday!)

I had NB & 0-3 clothes out & as she started growing out of things, I'd put them away in the clear plastic storage bins I'd bought & rotate in bigger sizes. If she wore something & I saw it was getting small, it'd go right into the put-away pile. We don't have a lot of storage space either so the bins are a lifesaver.
Allie pretty much fit into the sizes as they corresponded to her age...so when she was 2 months old, she was still in 0-3, 4 months old in 3-6, and so on. Although right now she's a few days shy of 6 months & even some of her 6-9 things are too tight..things she's never even gotten to wear yet! So I think she had a major growth spurt. It's just hard to say until you really see how they're gaining & how big they were to start with
