So, i'm obviously a little slow but i just realized my doctor isnt actually a doctor shes a certified nurse midwife. I absolutely love her and dont want to change but i'm just curious if there are actually any differences between the two?

I dont know about the US but here in Europe a midwife follows the pregnancy (except U/S) and is there throughout the labour and delivery if all goes to plan. If you have an epidural or they suspect any complications then you get a Dr supervising the actual delivery but its still the midwife that delivers. They dont do instrumental births or c-sections.

I think a midwife is great! Unless you know ahead of time you need a C-section, you don't really need an OB
