and ive realized this baby is never going to come!!

i guess i really cant complain....shes happy in there and seems to be healthy.
it was a normal appt. babys heartbeat is great, my blood pressure is good, measuring fine, but my stupid cervix is still only 1 cm dialated. . ugh. but she said im 80% effaced, which is def. improving. and very soft and she can feel my bag of water. and baby is really low. they said if she gets any lower she'll come out.

she tried stretching me a bit to see if it would help and i would not stretch. boo! but she did say that i have a good cervix for a first timer.

we briefly talked about induction...and if at next weeks appt things are still not progressing ill be scheduled to be induced the following week. most likely the 6th. at least i have somewhat if an end in sight. although i still wanna go into labor on my own.

o and a question... is EPO supposed to help your cervix to dialate or just soften it??

**ETA: she said my mucus plug is pretty much gone and the leaking is just normal stuff. not my water cause she could feel the bag and that it was intact.

Hang in there! I remember how sucky it was those last days. I think epo is meant to soften you cervix, but I could be wrong. You can always try cohosh since that got me going. But it sounds like you are having great progress all on your own. I remember people telling me that for you first you most likely won't dilate much until you are actually in labor. B day is almost here!

Michelle is correct, EPO doesn't dilate you, it just softens (effaces the cervix) Sounds like a good appt. and all is healthy/well

Sounds great! Don't fret about how dilated you are, it has nothing to do with when you'll go in to labor. I was 50 or 75% effaced and not dilated at all when my water broke, and Cherie arrived 11 hours later. My BFF was 3cm w/ her 2nd at 35 weeks, she was born at 41 1/2 weeks. I don't know why dr's check, the only thing it's good for is getting us pregnant girls upset!
