Oh ladies, I need your help! I attempted to organize the baby's nursery yesterday, wow. I just don't know where to put things that will be the most practical. We have a decent sized closet and a dresser for him and will be putting the changing table downstairs. Where do you put things like onsies, baby towels/wash cloths, blankets/sheets etc. I was thinking of keeping newborn to 6 months clothes out and then storing anything bigger for now. What about toys? I'm sure this has been asked before so thanks to anyone who has some ideas! Here is a picture of some of the items from our shower last weekend to show you the mess I was starting with....I have toys in the bottom of his closet for now and the swing, bouncy seat, travel system are all in the living room for now

I loved organising my nursery, even if at 6 months she still sleeps in her pack and play in our room!!

I have my changing table downstairs too and keep some vests and a spare change of clothes downstairs to save my legs! I bath her on the kitchen table so towels are downstairs too.

I keep the size of clothing shes wearing in her dresser and the next size in the bottom drawer and in plastic storage boxes in her closet.

Sheets and blankets are in a dresser drawer and anything outfitty is hanging up.

A word of advice, a lot of times something 0-3 months is smaller than NB, so rather than organise by sizes on labels, IŽd organise by comparing things and put the smallest on the top, so when LO arrives you have all the tiniest things available first.

Also all her toys are downstairs in the lounge as she doesnt play upstairs yet, just some cuddly toys in her cot.

I remember how nerve wracking it was to organize all that stuff at first. Like you said, I would keep out the 0-6 month clothes and store the rest. I keep her wash clothes and towels in the hall closet with the rest of our towels and stuff. As far as toys, I have some in her closet, but mainly I would store them. He won't be playing with them for a while so it's ok to just store them. I do keep her sheets and extra crib pads in the drawer under her crib. We don't have a changing table so I'm no help there. Anyway, hope I helped some. GL and post some pics when you get it done!!!

This is how I did things.

Outfits are hung up in the closet according to size. (Ones that have matching pants and onsies, dresses, nice shirts, etc) The top drawer of her dresser is for hats, bows, socks, and mittens. The next drawer was newborn and 0-3 month stuff, the next is 3 month and 3-6 month, and the bottom drawer is 6-9 and 9 month stuff. Different brands though have different sizes. Gerber runs REALLY small in my opinion and Carters runs kind of big. So go through your clothes frequently or you may have some things in your 3 month drawer that don't fit him any more by the time you get to them.

Wash cloths and towels are in the linen closet along with our towels. I have baskets for toys in Lilyanas closet, althogh I don't have many. The toys that she "plays" with right now are in a basket in the living room.

I have her changing table in her room and have baskets underneath it. 3 of the 4 baskets have diapers in them, and the other basket has pj's. I found she was growing out of her gown pj's so fast because they would get to short on her. So, I wanted to have all of the pj's available, again, because I don't want to pull it out of the drawer and find out she outgrew it.

I also have a basket of her toiletries in her closet. I keep duplicates of what I have in the bathroom there.

I hope this helps! If you want, I will take pictures and post them so you can take a look!

Thanks for your input ladies, it means a lot. I didn't even think about sizes running slightly different! The ideas are getting me motivated

Great thread! I'd love to see pictures too. Annoying about the clothes fitting differently though, I'd hate to have a bunch of 6 month stuff that doesn't fit by the time I go to pull it out! I'll have to keep an eye on that.
