Okay so my doppler has arrived, woo hoo! I tried it out right away of course and i couldnt hear anything, i know i'm early so i'm not really worried about it but i also realized i dont even know where to look! I kind of moved it all over but idk, when i did my u/s they pressed right on my bladder so is that abouts where i should start or can it really be anywhere?

Make sure you're really low, like right at the public bone. And sometimes I would have to tilt it downward too. I think at that stage, more importantly is to do it on a full bladder and don't skimp on the gel!

I agree with Christine. When we first started listening he was really low, then moved up over time.

I agree. When the doc tried to use the doppler on me, she couldn't hear anything because she said baby was still really low and was hiding under my pubic bone.

When I first got mine - I had to do like the previous posters said and look VERY low....and I had to tilt the machine downward....sort of pushing my skin in and getting the "head" of the machine under my pelvic bone - almost laying it sideways. It's kind of hard to explain....but make sure to use lots of gel...I used to think it was to just make it slide more easily (which it does do that) -- but it also works with the machine to keep air from getting in between the machine and your skin. Good luck -- I'm sure you'll find that little HB very soon!
