I wanted to get your opinions on something.
I already have in my possession, 35 photo cards with pics of Jack and the saying, "Jack just wanted you to know, he is 3 months old, and loving every minute of it!"
Well, Jack will be 15 weeks this Thursday! If I go by 16 weeks is 4 months, he is 4 months next week. If I go by Oct 18th he will be 4 months, then he has 2 weeks till then (which do I go by anyways?) So should I mail them out anyways, or make updated ones?
The pictures in the ones already made are very cute, but I can take more. He is chubbier then when the photos were taken. The cost was $12 for all the cards and envelopes. But if I make new ones what do I say? Jack is almost 4 months old and loving every minute of it? Jack is in his fourth month and loving every minute of it? Technically that is where he is at, right? In his fourth month. I mean, before a baby turns one month old they are in their 1st month of life, and once they are officially one month old that means they have already lived one month. Can you tell I am overthinking this? HELP!

I would just send out the ones you have! Why waste 'em. I think the people you are going to send them to will love them, and not really care how old he actually is when they get the card.
But, if you still feel the need to make new ones...I would say he would be 4 month on the 18th, not 16 weeks. We are not a year old after 52 weeks, we are a year old on our birthdays, right?
You could put something like.
"Jack is heading for 4 months and loving every minute of it"
"Jack is excited to be 4 months old in October"
"Jack wants to tell you these first 4 months have been great"
But again, I think you should just send out the ones you have!

I would get new ones made and send BOTH out. Family can never have/get enough pictures of their nieces/nephews/cousins/grandchildren.

I wouldn't make new ones, but I agree with you on the age thing. It confuses me, too. Saturday Amelia was 16 weeks, so is she 4 months old now or is she 4 months old on October 6 (Her DOB was June 6)? Very confusing...
Sorry, I'm not a whole lot of help, Michelle. I would send out the ones you have, though. You won't be too far off either way and I'm sure your family and friends would love the photos either way.

If they just did everything by weeks it wouldn't be a problem. But then they say things like doubling birth weight by 4 months. Well how many weeks is that? Jack gained almost a pound in one week a while ago, so it makes a difference, you know?
It makes sense though to go from birthday to birthday = a month, so I will go with that. I guess that is why I always thought my ticker was off? In that case he is right around the 3.5 month mark so the cards are still good! I'd hate to waste them too.
I like your idea Candace about sending out even more! Maybe a Halloween card would be fun! You don't think that would be too much? HUGE CONGRATS on you bfp by the way!!
thx for the replies everyone!

Okay, he is 4 months old on October 18 (assuming he was born on the 18th of the month.) 16 weeks is just that 16 weeks. So if you are aging him by months, then he will turn another month older on the day of the month in which he was born. Tori will be 11 months old on Oct. 2, she was born Nov. 2, 2008. I don't even keep up with number of weeks anymore. Actually, it won't be too long until you really won't be able to keep up with how many weeks old he is, at that point, months are sooo much simpler.
As for the cards, I would send out what I have and I don't think that the wording that you have on them would be too far off either. I would send them as is. JMO!!

And I thought keeping track of the weeks was easier, when in fact I was just confusing myself! I think you are right Becky.

Yeah, Michelle, I found myself constantly looking at my calendar and counting weeks all of the time. Then, it occurred to me, (light bulb came on) that she was just X number of months......so much easier. Actually, developmental charts go by months after a certain number of weeks as well.....i.e. between X months-Xmonths they should be crawling etc.

I go by date when talking months...so the 3 mo cards are still good! I do agree it is confusing though!

I say send what you have I agree going by when they are one month, 2 months, based on the day they were born...i.e. Zane was born on the 21st...so every month on the 21st he's a month older

Ditto to PP's. I went by weeks until 12 weeks and then months from there on because I couldn't keep up! If you feel the need to explain the picture, you could just write a simple note on them that says "taken xx/xx/2009" or something along those lines. Otherwise, I don't think people will be too wrapped up with the math--they will just love seeing your wee one!

I would send ouot the ones you already had made. The picture is good and I don't think too many people get wrapped up actually calculating how old you child is. It's just us mommies that do that LOL!
