Okay, I have been making an effort to learn my camera better. Photography is a hobbie for me that I would love to turn into more of a supplemental income. Anyway, I have taken Tori outside a couple of evenings to "Play" with her and my camera. Here are some of my favorite shots, I am still learning to adjust some settings so they may not be the best as far as quality....but my subject is perfect !! Enjoy.

BTW, Lindsey, if you have any recommendation as to how I could improve, let me know. Thanks!!

Photography is just a hobby for me also but i just wanted to say adorable pics! My only question is do you have any photo editing type programs? I put a couple of the pics into photoshop and just messed with the color levels a bit and it totally changed how they look imo. Of course its a matter of opinion if the colors being change is "better" or not but i think in a lot of situations (especially with people) sometimes the colors looked washed out to me.

Great pics though!

Oh and if you want i can show you an example of what i mean if you dont know what im talking about

Yeah, I don't mind. One of the things on my agenda is to learn photoshop. I actually do not have photoshop currently but I do hope that I can purchase it in the near future along with my own laptop. My DH has been fighting me over getting a computer of my own because he is being a "pain" about spending the money.

I know there is alot of learning that I need to do, but for me, my easiest way to learn is to just DO!! So, I realize that they are not perfect, but I liked the composition and positioning of my subject in these pictures. Of course, in my opinion, she is the best subject HAHA!!

Heres what i did in seriously a simple one step in photoshop, very easy. As you can see sometimes it brightens the pics, sometimes it makes them darker, sometimes there doesnt seem to be a huge change. I just did the auto feature also you can obviously get way more in depth.

I have a DSLR. I have a Canon Rebel Xti. Although I would love to upgrade my camera, I want to learn about the one I have first.

AHHH she is sooo cute!! I too am into photography. I think you did a nice job on the pics, I love the edits Sam did also. My first thought at seeing the pics was that some were a little on the dark side and some were a little too bright. I agree that with a photo editing software you can easily fix these things. Have fun with your camera, and just keep playing!!!

Thanks Erika!! I knew that some were bright and that some are dark, that is my problem, I don't know how to fix that. I just kept adjusting the shutter speed, ISO, aperture etc. Like in direct sun light, how do you eliminate the photo from being too bright? I have had my camera for a couple of years now, I just have always used auto and now I am wanting to learn all of the different setting features, so I have been taken pictures in manual mode.

She's so cute! I actually asked in the other thread what camera you used, but I see it in this thread. I've been thinking about getting the rebel. I loved photography when I took the class in college (with a manual, and did our own developing) and would love to get a DSLR soon. We have a "high end digital" but I'd love to upgrade. Problem is that cost us $600 like 2 years ago so it's a shame to have "wasted" that!

Absolutely adorable (specially the subject)
I have a Rebel also, and love the camera, but you'll love Photoshop, you can fiddle like crazy with everything on there so much that aperature and settings dont matter as much as they did in the past

There are some great hints in the photography board that I have found to help with mine. I just have a Canon powershot (not sure what a DSLR is! LOL) and I am learning to some different things too.

I agree your subject is perfect! And the pics turned out great too...I especially love the closeup with the teeth poking out! LOL
